Pineapple, lemon, peach and some pear, all in the profile. Finish is long with some complexity to it. The sweetness level is somewhere between kabinett and spatlese. Only 8.5% alchohol. The acid level makes it very food friendly with a lighter fish entree or as an aperitif with milder cheeses. Great QPR. Incredible mouthful of wine for $10 at Costco.

Lots of lemon. Solid, classic riesling. I'd say more Spätlese than Kabinett. Good value for Mosel Qualitätswein I think.

Pale lemon green in the glass. Simple, straightforward nose of peach, apricot, fresh lemon juice, lime zest. Light-bodied, smashable, easy. Great acidity, zesty. Low alcohol. Textbook style of Riesling, can't get it wrong with this.

Orange Chicken with veggies and a touch of chili called out for this wine. PnP, chilled. Our first of this vintage and this bottle definitely tasted "sweeter" than previous - so much so that my notes mentioned Spatlese (not the usual Kabinett). Medium bodied with the usual peach, citrus, minerality and enough acidity to make it work.

light straw color and the nose is honey suckle, green apples and tropical fruits. this is light body on the palate, medium acidity, with pear, tangerine and melon. the medium finish shows nice balance with floral notes. nice balance of sweet and sour. Well done!

Great Domaines - Dr Loosen Tasting (Culture Bar Bree Street) : (Tasted Blind): A bright and crisp white, offering notes of almond, apple, and white flowers, with a hint of sweetness. Balanced by racy acidity, the wine is easy drinking with the flavours of fresh green apples. Quite tight and linear, with a fairly simple profile and lingering finish.

Opened this wine at home for the CNY 7th day celebrations at home with my in-laws and their relatives. Wine was a bit sweeter than expected. Fresh, floral fragrance on the nose. Honeycomb, and a light touch of nectar. Expressive with elegance and flavours. Makes a nice pre-dinner drink and pairs well with a wide range of Chinese cuisine.

Pretty inexpensive entry level Mosel. Pale lemon colour. Nose is light, clean and crisp with notes of honeydew melon, pear skins and yellow apples. My lone bottle bought at auction for just under $10. Nice green apple notes on the palate. Simplistic and a little one dimensional. I enjoyed it but in and amongst a myriad of other good wines at a party. Still have a 1/3 of a bottle that I will revisit tomorrow night. Interesting side by side with a 2017. As expected, markedly darker color . The 17 looked almost clear by comparrison. A lot more petrol on the nose. A lot of the sweetness was gone, and this could have used more acidity, but still a pleasant drink.

Likely at or just past peak. Some petrol in this bottle I hadn’t tasted before. Otherwise stone fruit and citrus consistent with previous notes.

Ripe, floral, grapey nose. Distinctly semi sweet, though almost in balance.

Wonderful, drinking well, but likely will not improve further — perfect TGIF Chinese food wine.

Luminous yellow-green color. A bit stuffy and somewhat vague nose with indefinite aromas of citrus fruits and somewhat wizened apples with lots of nondescript, slightly rubbery notes. This bottle tasted a bit sweeter than my last but still balanced by pleasant acidity. Still quite fresh with notes of nectarines, pear and lime. Drink now or hold.

Five years after my first note and this wine overall has aged well. It was part of a vertical of 06-10 Dr. L and this is the sweetest of the bunch with notes of stone fruit, pear and citrus. The sweetness has light acid/minerals to balance but not quite in check. Drinking well now and while I don't see it improving should last through its 10th birthday.

Still fresh. Lime, honeydew melon and a bit of nectarine. Slightly sweet but balanced by medium acidity and light wet stone notes. Drinking well now but don't hesitate to age a bit more.

Who says inexpensive rieslings can't age? Likely peaking but still showing pleasant stone fruit and citrus notes. Integrated acidity and light mineral notes. Drink now.

2006 vintage

Third of four bottles. When served frig-chilled, it was bright and crisp as an afternoon quaffer. Very nice. Good QPR. Slightly sweet with nice citrus acidity and some stone fruits.

Very nice tart lime and peach notes, off dry, hints of honeysuckle in the clean finish. Good.

{screwcap, 11.5%, AP 16 13} Probably the dullest Dr L I can recall. Closed nose of stale lemons; an initial prickle of acid on the palate dissipates quickly; the flavours are the same dull lemon as the nose, it's very short-finishing and rather underwhelming. Light-bodied and vacuous. Dry, but that's not making it any more interesting. Pass

Petrol/fresh tennis balls, slate, lemon zest on the nose - terrific. Very similar notes coming through on the palate along with some green apple. I think the acidity is med(-). I don't find the wine flabby, its off dry for sure, but I think there's just enough acidity (a bit more would be better). Finish was a little short, which keeps it from approaching a 90 pt wine.

Rich & silky in texture, concentrated and lively on the palate, peach flavors present. Finishes w/ a tinge of orange rind.
