Has settled over the years and is now more representative of what appears to be an elegant and balanced vintage. No real oak to speak of, at least to my palate, and much more about tight minerally fruits and some racy acid. Did open up over time and the primary fruit deepened and darkened as a result. Good class and quite good complexity and a very different wine from the previous tasting.

This wine is nearly twice that in price to the Heathcote / Bendigo blend but the class clearly shows. Very dark blood red in colour with no signs of fade. Plush nose of toasty oak and robust berry fruits. Thck palate structure with more fresh toast oak and a big whack of ripe berry fruit.
