medium ruby colour. a bit of reduction gives way to fairly expressive aromas and flavours of bright red wild berries, cherry, pomegranate and blood orange with fresh mediterranean herbs and spices. dry, with medium body, plus acidity and chalky, medium tannins. reticent at first in mouth, it opens with time to lovely, fresh and clear red fruit with integrating accents. very good length. 13.5% AbV; blend of equal halves Garnatxa and Cariñeña; whole-cluster fermentation in cement and stainless tanks; eight-month …

Dominic Huber masterclass (Hams & Clams) : Grenache - Carignan (50-50), cement, some carbonic, whole cluster This is the old Torroja label -/- The wine shows freshness, a bit riper than Historic negre (but not overripe), again there is a nice herbal green element, cinnamon candy Palate is very fresh, elegant, nice acidity, a bit mineral, very smooth, red currant, red cherry notes, light herbal notes, straightforward, looks simple but its quite interesting, med finish

Do you remember when Priorat was all about power and aging. Well, think again. This is light on it's feet, cool calm and collected, spicy and very drinkable and fresh with a nice core of ripe Grenache. Will keep, I'm quite sure, but quite easy to finish the bottle, I'm afraid.

Wow! Founded by Dominik Huber & Eben Sadie, now run by Huber & winemaker Tatjana Peceric, Terroir al Limit has been on my watchlist for far too long. Mid-level entry, Terra de Cuques Negre (v21, 13.5% ABV, 50/50 Grenache/Carignan, concrete & unfiltered) - youthfully transmitting sense of place & showing an astounding ’other’ Priorat. Hazy ruby-red. Juicy, deeply fruited scents air-unfolding - brambles, cherries, strawberries, campari, licorice, herbs, tea, supreme energy, bitter-sweet, vivid acids, airy & lengthy!

Blackfruit/jam taste with a more dry, earthlike finish that match well with the intense fruit driven mouthfeel. Well balanced wine that will surely improve with time.

Trying out some of the 2021 baby TaL and I’m seeing a lot of similar characteristics to the 2021 Les Manyes. Particularly, the underbrush and dark herby notes laced with minerality. The Les Manyes didn’t do as well as usual in 2024 JoW, I suspect due to these. However, this wine shows a substantial improvement on day 2. On Day 1, I was in the 89 range but loving it now. I think it certainly warrants revisiting the LM.

Opened with some barn aromas, later dark fruits like blueberries and blackberries, herbs, flowers, spices, liquorice and forest floor. Light weighted and juicy on the palate, but intense and concentrated. Pronounced acidity, and less pronounced tannins.

Aromas of blackcurrant bush, sweet blackcurrant and garrigue. Rather jammy mouth feeling, and also quite etheral. Not a good bottle, this.
