Fattoria Casa di Terra, Bolgheri, Moreccio

Time has been kind to this bottle. Seems a bit like a solid BDX with a little age on it.

Bottle rotation always leaves a few stragglers. Still remarkably fresh on nose and at first sip. Age shows in a bit of flatness in mid-palate. One review says Syrah is third grape (Cab and Merlot are others) but pretty sure it is Sangiovese. Bright cherry flavors, Tuscan origin - and wine searcher confirmation - all say Sangiovese. May be past peak, but still quite drinkable.

Plum, dust, and very dry. Short finish.

Nice tannins, still drinking fairly well. Peppery notes, purple flowers, too. A steal that I'm pleased to have sat on for a minute.

Dark ruby in color, this wine (60% Cabernet Sauvignon/30% Merlot/10% Syrah) reveals muted notes of plum, blackcherry and dust on the nose. The mouth feel is medium bodied with added elements of menthol and spices. The finish is short and the acidity struggles to make the fruit noticeable and balanced. 13.5% abv. Nose is raw and smells of hay and green blueberries. Flavors are dark berry with hints of raspberry. I get spice that builds through the wine with a darker edge of cacao and earth towards the finish. It drys the tongue late with a cranberry flourish.

Ripe red fruit, mocca, spice, vanilla. Lot of taste and power for the money.
