Drank with Easter dinner, paired beautifully with a tenderloin. Bordeaux-like nose, mellow red fruits, spice and earth. Probably closer to the the end of prime drinking window, showing very nicely now

Have drank several bottles of this over the last few years. I think a classic case of Parker/WA getting it wrong at the outset (85pts - very low for Parker), and not retasting later. I think WA is great, but they do tend towards a one dimensional view of California Cabs. This wine is not a full throttle fruit bomb, its aged nicely. Ready to drink now, just right. Tannins have dropped and the fruit is still well integrated, but turning mellow and perfumy. Cedar, spice, over dark fruits.

Deep ruby color with no evidence of bricking leads to a nose of currant, cedar, and vanilla. The medium full body has nice black fruit, some asian spice and a hint of chocolate. The wine finishes with lovely dusty tannins. (14+22+22+32). Enjoy now

Nickel & Nickel visit and tasting (Napa Valley CA) : Tasting at winery. Floral aromatics with good black cherry. Subtle fruit showing more balance and charm than most of the N&N 2001 lineup today. Good length and finesse. Better after 2006.
