Truly delicious bottle, elegantly rich, dark fruit, with a touch of cinnamon spice, went wondrously well with our Beijing Duck lunch in San Francisco. Bravo Luc and Jodie!

Chocolate covered cherries with baking spices. This wine still has life in it, but it has mellowed out considerably.

Popped and poured. Lovely nose of raspberries, violets and garrique. The wine is medium to full bodied with delicious raspberry, black cherry, herbs and spice the wine finished nice and long with its oak now largely fully integrated. This is evolving nicely and still has many years to go.

This is spectacular. Contrasting a couple of “big” California pinots I had tonight (it’s the weekend after all!) and comparing this with the Hartford Arrendell Pinot 2013 (excellent say 93 points) this, to me, is in a different class. Powerful, very California, bountiful fruit but impeccably balanced. Probably excellent for several years to come but no need to wait.

Very rich for a Pinot but well balanced and has a vaguely sweet and long finish; however this doesn't detract over time as a sweet finish otherwise night--enough mineral to balance it. Very very good

A lush yet tart modern Pinot that is quite tasty but needs another year to come into its own. Light purple in color, medium in body, nose of baking spices and dried strawberry. Tastes of black cherry, cranberry, thyme, and cedar, with a sour and lingering finish that still carries more tannin than I expected. 14.5% alcohol. Morlet does a fantastic job of producing powerful wines that are still graceful. This needed an hour to start showing real complexity, and …

Big meaty Pinot with gobs of dark fruit and thick velvety mouth feel. This is your steak Pinot or big hunk of meat Pinot.

This looked like Syrah when poured, dark purple - as dark as Pinot gets. Definitely a darker richer fruit profile, but served at cellar temp didn't come across as overdone. had a little "cotton candy" on the finish.

A richer pinot than I expected, but complex, balanced. Still a bit young. I should have aerated longer than I did.

not like old style burgundy, more like a Leroy. One of the best Calif pinots i've ever had.

A nicely structured pinot with plenty of body. Made the 07 Brewer Clifton next to it seem like a namby pamby wine. Perhaps could use a bit more time in the bottle.

Notes of strawberries, cherries, and minerals. Really opened up after a couple hours. Great intensity, delineation and focus, more like a fine Burgundy than a California Pinot.

This wine validates my very high opinion of Luc Morlet. It is uncommonly dense with a symphonic flavor profile. Quite enjoyable right now. Can't wait to sample his 2009 Joli Coeur.
