This bottle had a nice savory tinge to it. It was smooth and balanced. Much rounder than the last bottle I opened in 2014. Very nice. Not what I was expecting in terms of flavor profile but very nice.

Monthly tasting club LTC: Foie and wine (@ LWH by PvE) : In the bouquet cherries and red berries, but also some rustic and smoky flavors. On the palate cherries and red as well as black berries. Supple and juicy, primary fruits with good acidity and a touch of sweetness. Mild tannin.

What upfromthecellar, barkingleopard and thebonnydoone said. This is exactly what it should be. This wine doesn't transcend its station in life, but is well made at this price and delivers a descent drinking experience. I was expecting this to be underwhelming and over-the-hill, but there is an inviting dolcetto nose with an acceptable palate experience and plenty of structure to resist oxidation for 24 hours

A nice Dolcetto with bitter almonds, dusty tannins and leather and dirt. A great Wednesday/Thursday night wine with potential to go into Fridays. Solid drink.

Solid wine. Still has plenty of flavor left in it. Paired well with mustard-braised london broil. Looking forward to drinking this one again, shame I'm down to my last bottle.

Nice red. Opens up and smooths more after a few hours of air.

Very similar to the last bottle, gritty, medium bodied, fresh with juicy berry and dark cherry fruit. nice pomegranate, redcurrant note on the finish adds a little bitterness which works great with food. Not complex, but decent value for the moeny.

Give this a lot of air. Opened day 1 would have said 85. Day 2 totally changed.

Pretty dark and ripe, but not very complex. Gritty with some rough tannins - went plenty well with spagetti carbonara. Lots of blackberry and dark plum fruit.

After enjoying very much a bottle at an earlier date, we were sorely disappointed in this bottle. It did not yield a fraction of the pleasure of the previous bottle. A chore to drink the glass. Did no benefit from an overnight rest--second day showed further tatters. Too bad, since a nice Dolcetto can really hit the spot.

To me, imported Dolcetto is often a gamble--almost always quite enjoyable in the Langhe, but somehow thin or unpleasant when it lands here. This bottle transported us back to Italy, especially coming off an unpleasantly cloying California Zinfandel the night before. The Dolcetto demonstrated medium body, sweet fruit, unobtrusive tannins (maybe could have used a little more structure), and smooth texture. A good exemplar of its name.

Deep crimson. Blackberry nose. Typical Dolcetto chewiness. Black fruits with some pencil box. Good bitter edge, medium finish, good.
