Fantastic pairing with red caviar on potatoes and a cheese plate. Clean, crisp.

Taste: rather sour trough the bouqette. Much taste of light lemon/lime. Perhaps a little bit flint stone or chalk and light elements of orange fruit. The champagne has a strange sour taste that im not really fond of. I will call this bottle the "Lemon Squeezer" Points: 87 (88)

Pristine and precise. Compelling not in its complexity but in its simplicity. Gentle but focused, creamy but lean. Truly delicious. Pure joy.

Voge and Friends (Llewelyn's) : On opening, a whiff of parmesan which soon vanished. There's real grip and precision here - someone said "racy" and that seemed right - the fruit is at the forefront but it's all in balance and there's substance behind it. Lovely champagne - it was not allowed to be voted for later on, which would have changed things...

Voge & Friends (Llewelyn's Herne Hill, London) : Very classy drop. Fresh, racy and balanced. Sesame cracker and a little lemon pith. Broad and rich on the palate. Very enjoyable.

Cornas, Voge and Friends (Llewelyn's, Herne Hill) : Crisp and inviting. A fine mousse, very pleasant indeed. RZ said this contained all the fruit that would have gone into Cristal which wasn't made, and was the reason for his purchase! Maybe this is why I found this to be actually quite youthful versus expectations of a 2010. Wheat, traces of biscuits, apple core and grapes. One of the team picked out sour lemon sherbert which once he'd said that you …

This was showing quite well, better than the last bottle I had with a sourdough note, lemon curd, med. soft attack, showing some age but in great shape, slightly less depth than the '09 Billecart and '06 Cazals but a nice line-up of BdBs. Newport Seafood Champagne Lunner.

Excellent, still quite fresh although showing slight signs of mellowing, there's a slightly softer, richer creaminess to it this time, with sourdough, sugar cookie, lemon cake notes; good clarity and medium precision. With Les Deux Sevres goat cheese S&L

2021 Martinborough weekend with Kai, Marion and friends (Wairarapa, NZ) : Mike’s Champagne was served double blind. I thought it was a 2008 Blanc de Blancs but did not pick the house style. Some pleasant, toasty, spicy development. Rich and full with yeasty autolysis notes. Almond paste, grapefruit, pears, yellow apples and chalky minerals. Appropriately oxidised for its age. Fresh acidity. No hurry to drink (10+ years?).

Straw golden with olive tinge, light bubbles. Nose toasty, brioche, some golden fruits. Palate strongly mineral, some richness, lime acidity. Still young but nice depth

excellent as usual. Good Oscars night bubbly. Fancy, elegant, bright, very slight bottle age showing on this making it a bit rounder, a bit more autolysis showing it seems. Very nice.

Terrific QPR. Really outstanding stuff. From what I gather, with Roederer not making Cristal in 2010, lots of that juice went into this BdB. So good!

The wine looks blonde colored. The legs are fast. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like lemon, apple and pear. It tastes like pear and apple. The body is light/medium. The wine has narrow texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

This is so rich and delicious. Buttery, yeasty, golden apples, white peach on the nose. More refreshing character of citrus and toast in the mouth. It’s a lot and I absolutely love it.

Excellent and fresher than the last bottle or 2 I had. Chalk it up to bottle variation or storage issues. Blair's w/JW&S

This took a little dive since the last time I had this...not as fresh, lacking the pit fruits and flowers and autolysis notes--this could be a question of storage as it showed a little nutty aspect and heavier sappiness. I really appreciated the freshness and crisp purity of the previous bottles. I just ordered a couple fresh bottles from the distributor and am eager to see it's a storage issue or something else. Some wines are just better fresher and …

Rich, nutty, toasty, with stone fruit and a good acidic backbone. Textbook vintage champagne, and excellent value for money at £60/bottle.
