I am always very adventurous with wine and was really disappointed with this wine. Rather pale color as expected but a very cloudy wine. I took that to mean it went through a significant time on the skins and would have a lot of complexity. But the flavors were very muted and no secondary notes stood out. I have only had Pais /Mission a couple of times and I wonder if it was just past its time.

Largely what BottleScholar said. I rate it higher than the acceptable rating dictated by WSET standards because I find it to be a very unique, fun, and tasteful wine. It also paired absolutely perfectly with a ham and cheese sub. It might be one of the best wine/food matches I’ve ever had.

A cloudy light ruby color with a garnet tinge. Aromatic and flavor intensity: M. Nose reminiscent of an affordable pinot noir. Light not-quite-ripe berries, with a mild "sweetness". Mashed strawberry, cranberry, and a little garrigue. Acid: M+ with moderate tartness. Body: M-. Tannin: M with a light chalky texture. Finish: M/M-. Acceptable. Not suitable for aging.
