2 hour decant. Massive brute wine without any semblance of elegance or restraint. Big for the sake of being big. I enjoy big wines but this one was overwhelming to the palate. Perhaps better with more time and more air but uncertain. Serves as proof that the winemaker is as important as the fruit source.

Double decanted 20+ hrs prior and opened within 30 min of serving. Medium purple and deep ruby with thin ruby rim. 👃🏻 herbal notes, soil, cherry, blackberry 👅 black pepper, hint of licorice, cherry, raspberry, dense on the finish which is 45 sec The pedigree of fruit is evident. I had high expectations for this and it exceeded them. This wine is sure to improve with age but it is drinking well with long slow ox, with nice elegance.

As per other reviews, this was excellent! Super young for sure, but pure Cabernet fruit, plenty of structure, and a long finish make it absolutely delicious after giving it significant air. Plenty of upside, but the pedigree of the fruit is VERY evident here. Glad to have quite a few more to enjoy over many, many years.

Not a fan of opening young wines, but curiosity was killing the cat. Double decant the night before and back in the bottle under cork for 16 hr. Horton Vineyard fruit (MacD). Medium bodied. Briar/brambly, crushed green herbs, violets, red and black cherry, candied dried cherry, hint of unripe black raspberry. Oak is managed very well, nice fine tannic backbone that drives everything along. If you’re looking for a young buxom hot thing…move along. This is elegant, refined and sophisticated. …

Open 24 hrs. Deep dark ruby color, nose of sweet black cherry, tar and cassis screaming Oakville. This has a plushness to the texture that just grabs you and brings you to attention. It envelopes you in a nice warm soft blanket in front of a fire eating bon bons. No, really. This wine is fantastic. Will be phenomenal in a few years. Screw the 2020 Napa nay-sayers.
