Alicante Bouschet is typically used for color - Forgone Conclusion is certainly pigment enhanced, thick skinned, and sooty - almost alarmingly lean at 10.64% ABV. If you’re ok with raw, it works. Tart notes of red blueberries, blackberries, and nail salon varnish.

Consistent with the truly excellent and under appreciated lineup of complex, expressive, extremely lean, extremely naked gems of Southold Farms and Cellars. Foregone Conclusion is a murky brown purple Alicante Bouschet at yes, 10.64% - the ABV of a strong beer. It’s a very complete, wholesome, and distinctive iodine cranberry monster wonder child.

A rather unusual and interesting wine. Relatively aromatic nose of earthy red fruit. Medium to dark red color. Medium initial body quickly expanding into a big cherry pop tart flavor reaffirming its carbonic maceration. Long finish. A touch funky as a resilt of whole cluster fermentation with native yeast. An interesting yin yang thing of high flavor contrasting light body and 10.6% alcohol. A very interesting wine.
