Heart & Hands Riesling Patrician Verona

This one is in such a fun place right now. The touch of r.s. has done wonders to its ability to hold over time. Aromas of burnt honey, beeswax, vanilla, apricot, peach. Acid carries really well on the palate, finishing with a bruleed grapefruit note. Long finish. Impressive amount of fruit on the mid palate to balance the oxidative tertiary notes. My final bottle (prior was Oct 2015) and this was its best showing yet. Floral, peach and mineral and the nose. Medium bodied, showing golden apple and peach upfront along with green apple and lime in the background along with almond and stone on the finish. The wine has softened overall, exhibiting better overall integration between the fruit and acidity, while preserving the overall structure and dryness. This wine has improved nicely and fairly closely to what I expected from nearly a year ago. The profile both on the nose (floral and mineral) and regarding the fruit (apple, lime,almond and stone) were very consistent with my notes from November 2014. What has improved is the fruit is smoother and more integrated and therefore showed noticeably better. Floral and mineral notes on the nose. This medium bodied wine displayed a bit more sweetness at first than I was expecting. The fruit was there, showing green apple, lime, almond and stone, but there wasn’t enough acidity to balance out the sweetness. As it opened up, the sweetness and the acidity came more and more into balance and the finish began to develop and lengthen. Displayed the hallmark richness of the Heart & Hands rieslings.
