This was very nice. A smooth Cab underneath with a little peppery bite from the shiraz.

Dark garnet color. Strawberry jam, red plums, hints of cocoa, and a bit of spice. Smooth, nice tannins, spice on the finish. A little hot, but not obnoxious. Enjoyable.

Nice wine but needs time to open. It does not have the aroma I thought it would have.

Fruit forward dark cherry with smoked oak and soft tannins on finish. Very enjoyable on a breezy day on the lake.

Dark purple with a ruby rim. Huge nose of cherry cough syrup, menthol, dark fruit and oak (not a fan of the nose). Lush mouthfeel with a bit of tannin on the finish. This is all fruit... gobs of it. Dark, jammy, fruit with a finish of more fruit, slightly tart. Bit of spice from the syrah. Lots and lots of oak too. Medium finish.

Nice wine, but doesn't contain any kind of wow factor.

The first bottle I drank is nothing like this bottle. This bottle is actually very good. The first bottle I drank was similar to what jonradus described, this bottle is similar to everyone else's reviews.

Very big fruit and oak on this one and the combo is tasty. Fruit jam and bitter chocolate flavors, and it finishes soft but the oak is too much on the finish, and I'd like a bit more acidity.

Similar to last bottle, maybe slightly less impressed. At the sale price, hard to complain.

Aromas of blueberry and blackberry. Full bodied mouthfeel with a little zing of acidity. A jammy wine but not over the top. I also get a smoked meat kinda thing. Chalky tannins with some black pepper spice on the finish.

dark purple. nice nose of dark berries and some interesting earth. too much oak for me, it seemed to be covering something. the tannins were nice, but wow, this wine ended very flat. maybe the fact that we had a enjoyed an insanely good Pinot Noir prior, but this wine had no acidity. SWMBO liked it but her preference is for "buttery wine". My opinion: This wine is geared for the fruit-forward, smooth, easy-drinking, new-oak-loving crowd. No disrespect, but not …

Popped and poured. Needed more time in the air to cool down tannins. Revisited a half hour later was much smoother with strong berry flavors. Deep red in the glass.

On the first night, this was very good. On the second, we went out and didn't touch the bottle. On the 3rd, it was magnificent (and gone). A clear core of dark fruit surrounded by leather, wood, spice. Yum!

Dark color. Nose had some alcohol, oak, and the cassis of the cab. Opened up a bit after a 30 minute decant. The alcohol mellowed out and the palate had a bit of earth as the syrah showed but was mostly the dark fruit of cab and oak. Long, long finish though.

Opemed and aerated; my wife described it as "velvety chocolate"; initial taste of blackberry, cocoa, then some vanilla, maybe oak, and a little pepper, short-med finish, smooth, drinking nicely, good everyday wine

Dark purple in color. Crazy dark. Black fruit and oak on the nose. Black cherry, blackberry and plum on the palate with additional notes of oak and spicy vanilla. Nice drink - especially at the state monopoly store price of $15.

Solid purple. Boysenberry, spice and leather nose. Medium bodied, blackberries, pepper, tobacco, drying tannins, and a medium length finish. Smooth and tasty.

Decant one hour-Dark ripe fruit, maybe some licorice, tar, or some other kinda weird flavor. One dimensional and lacking structure, mostly dark fruit but not much else.

Drank at monthly neighbors dinner Really nice wine, closed on opening but really benefited from a bit of air: Deep & dark Color. Nose and taste of dark berries and cured beef. Generous mouth feel with hefty tannins on the finish

A very dark wine. Deep aromas and flavors of dark berries and beef jerky. Full bodied mouthfeel. Really opens up after some air. Dry finish and tannic finish.

This wine smells like sweaty, leathery, bloody, deer hide mixed with cherry...think dirty, bloody Vieux Telegraph. The taste is sour cherry and vanilla with blood. The finish is filled with bloody tannins and there is a prevalent amount of heat on the end. This is just worth $20, but nor more.

OOhh this was sooo good! Think I need to get back up to Northern Cal and purchase some more. Very nicely balanced but a bit pricey at the $50.00 price point. If you can find this on sale drink it now although it may be hard to find.
