On a hiking trip with Elmar, at the Rotweinlaube in the Assmanshäuser Höllenberg. Beautiful setting. The wine was light yellow in colour and offered stone fruit, apple, peach and hints of red berries as well as white pepper notes on the grapy palate, with pleasant bitterness and lively, medium-level acidity. Finished quickly. Refreshing and enjoyable as a refreshment on a beautiful hiking trail, but the wine would most likely disappointed me if I open it at home.
