Fantastic! Notes of toasty oak, jasmine, pear and apricot. Great balance, with a long finish.

Excellent, much, much better than the first two bottles we had which were green and herbaceous. Very precise, with apricot, good minerality and toasty oak. Excellent balance, with a long finish. This wine is a terrific Chassagne premier cru, FINALLY!

Chassagne Montrachet Hodgepodge (Arlequin Wine Merchant, San Francisco) : Healthy light yellow. Sulfur evident on the nose. Clean, crisp style with a thin layer of flesh due to a touch of oak. More classic, elegant style that has a hard, crimped finish due to the sulfur which remains present throughout.

Chassagne Montrachet Flight (Arlequin Wine Merchant, San Francisco) : Golden yellow. Completely oxidized. Just to check, another bottle was opened. It too was completely shot. A shame-last year, there was no hint of this at all.

Greeny pale yellow. Quite a deep nose of mild oak toast with lime, mineral and the faintest floral element, mainly a combination of minerality and light oak toast. Very clean and pure and minerally attack opening up to a richer mid-palate, a touch of oak richness, limey fruit, white flowers and good cut, minerality and freshness coming through the back of the mid-palate to the persistent and positive finish. Light yellow color... aromatically minerals, lemon, yellow flowers... background note of barrique spice (<1/3 new I would guess), a little dairy smell from malo/lees, no hints of botrytis. On the palate dry, high, citrusy/racy acidity, full midpalate, low to moderate alcohol. Very well balanced wine, good length and intensity, average complexity... tons of finesse, a fantastic texture with no rough edges, classic expression of place. White Burgundy Flight (Arlequin Wines, San Francisco) : Light yellow with a hint of green. Zippy lemon and orange blossom. Light, very lively with excellent inner mouth floral tones. Lovely, fresh and crackling youthfulness. Lacks just a touch of drive, but it is so pretty that it can be forgiven for this slight deficit of intensity. Whereas the Roulot was forceful and assertive, this won me over with finesse and seduction. A winner in quite a different style.

Wine Education Service - Fine White Burgundy (Imperial College) : Green gold. A very attractive complex nose, a little development, floral notes. Stunning in the mouth, Citrus, complex, on the youthful side, very long.

WES - Fine White Burgundy (Imperial College London) : Clear and bright. Deep gold. Sweet ripe fruit on the nose. Floral and elegant. Dry, smooth, subtle but ramps up. Long. Rich, bold, complex, candid citrus.

Light yellow with greenish hints. Yellow fruit on the nose: apple, citrus and melon. Spices like cinnamon etc., almond, hazelnut and mushroomy nuances. Dry, medium fruity and medium bodied wine with nicely balanced acidity. Medium toasty and intensively spicy oak and good minerality coming through. Very nice spicy and quite complex Chassagne-Montrachet drinking very well at the moment.
