Elio Filippino Barbera d'Alba Vigna Veja

Deep red color with a violet core. Black cherry, liquorice and dried herbs on the nose. Drank three years after harvest, acidity still fairly bright and driving the dry sensation of the wine. Juicy medium-light body, with high ABV at 14%. Combination of bright acidity and ABV makes the fruity palate appear as somewhat nondescript red fruit. Not bad or flawed, just a little too one-dimensional. 78 points.
