Elizabeth Spencer Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder

Still bright color - NO brown edging. Lovely on its own and with cheese and crackers. Luscious, smooth, well-blended, balanced. Red fruit - but couldn't tell you which ones. Doesn't scream "acidic" as some red fruits can.

Classic Napa Cab drinking excellent!

Nose and palate is of raisins -- balanced, but of old, dry fruit -- might be beyond its prime.

could tell it was a mountain cab with real good texture, slightly coarse fruit and tannins and good acidity to keep fresh. Plum and raspberry fruit in a velvety medium body wine. Still young but interesting and wakes up the tastebuds. Fun wine.

Decanted and drank over 2+ hrs. Very enjoyable, with nice bouquet, well balanced and subtle tannins and a mid-length finish. Much better than I was expecting from prior reviews. Agreed, a bit overpriced...but still a lovely wine nonetheless.

Decanted 2 hours, re-bottled for transport to restaurant and drank over 2 hours. The nose exhibited cassis, black cherries, a strong bell pepper streak, and a little bitter chocolate. Surprisingly creamy, weighty and voluptuous for a 13.7% abv wine. Flavors of cherry and plum. A decent finish. Perhaps this was a little young, but nothing about it was overly impressive. Certainly tasty and enjoyable, but $20-$30 overpriced. If scoring, 87-89.

A lot of pinot qualities...earthy, some leather, dark fruit. Very tamed for a cab...but nice. Will probably drink my other fairly soon....not much to age. Enjoyable!

Excellent wine. I'm a big fan of Cab Franc period but this is one of the best I've had. Enjoyed this after a 90 minute decant and with a dry aged rib eye. I certainly wish I would've bought more of these when I visited the ES tasting room a couple years ago. Tannins were not overpowerful but had a wondeful dry taste that was delightful.

Surprisingly light and feminine for a cab, with plum, raspberry, cherry, and tobacco notes. Elegant, but interestingly, I doubt I would identify it as a cab if tasted blind.

Black plum, dark cherries, blueberries, spice, fine tobacco, mint. It has a smokey oak on the finish. It's an excellent wine, A-.

I really like this for a cab franc. Not overly structured but enough there to drink and enjoy. It had acidity to keep it fresh and lively. The red fruits were juicy and mellowed by a touch of creme brulee crust. The nose had some vanilla and floral notes. Nice. Went well with food and alone after some decanting. Held up well on day 2.
