Interesting wine. Double decanted - this had a lot of sediment and would absolutely need a decant. Light-ish in color. Some funk on the nose that is different than wines with brett I've had before. As much as I adored earlier bottles that made me stack irresponsible quantities of Erasmus, this bottle clearly is past its peak. Full bodied (very), rich and opulent it is still a big wine but with some medicinal note if not undiluted herbal wine. Powerful, broad shouldered but I don�t say it often: I believe you should drink up. Just because the earlier bottles we had were truly grand vins!

This wine is an amazing mix. On the nose there is a lot of berries and you can already feel the complexity. The most astonishing thing is that the wine tastes both incredibly fruity and intense, but is at the same time easy due to it’s mineralic acidity. Mindblowing

Always a favorite of mine, the 04 Erasmus soldiers on with no signs of fading. Bright and pretty but with plenty of substance and gravity, the wine shows bright red cherry and currant fruit with still bracing tannins. This wine has personality to spare.

Bought on release, 2-3 mm ullage, perfect long cork. Decanted 45 minutes before trying. Etherial, huge, dancing elegance, superb "Rhonish" but honestly superbly Priorat stone flavors. Dark, brooding purple. The nose is dominated by a very sweet aroma of lavender, behind which you find ripe plums, leather, and hints of soy sauce. The palate is in a sweet-tart style, fading to a long tannic and mineral finish. Drinking now, particularly on day two, but will knit together if you wait a few years.... score should rise as it ages, call this 91-94(+?)

not blind A powerful wine but everything is well integrated and balanced. Extract sweetness, very fruity after dark berries but not jam style, Violet, smoky and a bit aetherical. Precise finish. Three years agi I would be more "impressed". 96-97

From magnum. In 2013 rated the wine 97 points and while still a clearly stunning wine, found a bit more anise and warmth then I prefer. Plenty of life here and we finished every drop. A showy red fruit driven with no hard edges, like a friendly puppy dog, lots of fun, but hard to take too seriously. Hedonistic in nature.

The 95 score is a mix of the two experiences i had. Decanted for 3 hours and it was a good wine fully balanced and elegant, complex nose with primary and secondary aromas, but not astonishing. A remarkable wine - generously brought to Christmas dinner by a friend. Big wine - spicy black both on the nose and in the mouth. In the mouth, though dominated by black fruit there is some red fruit but not as much as I anticipated given the high percentage of Garnacha. Strong, intriguing minerality, finishing with blackberries, prunes, and smoky espresso. A towering wine that just draws you in. Still with much life ahead of it.

Nice one but I think I opened this too early. Very opulent and strong in the beginning - lots of different Mediterranean spices in the nose. Fresh cherries and kind of difficult to describe anise-licorice taste on the palate with some green paprika. An interesting wine (was my first Erasmus) but I wouldn't buy it again.

My fourth time with this wine and it remains one of my all-time favorites. Not showing any signs of fading, or even mellowing, this wine is 'gripping' in every sense of the word. Drinking it is to engage in a fight for control of your mouth with the wine eventually winning in an epic battle. Not for the faint of heart, yet I've never shared it with anyone who wasn't completely captivated by it.

Flawed. Have been drinking a bottle each year from a case I bought at release. All have been great so far. However, this bottle had a strong cherry cough syrup taste with a touch of sherry. What a shame.

Decanted for two hours, probably not necessary except for sediment. Loads and loads of complex and layered sweet red fruit, complemented by spice and minerality. While notably sweet, this never came off as unbalanced. Not as stunning as the '13 I had late last year, but quite impressive. Showing freshness from the moment opened until the last sips the next day, I see no rush.

A magnum, gift from the wine-maker, Daphne Glorian, for my wife's 60th and my 62nd birthdays. Served with a slow cooked leg of lamb and enjoyed with Daphne, Eric, Jordan, Siu, Pascale and Charles. The wine was profound with layers of fruit, minerals, beautifully balanced and, of course, great with the lamb. The highlight of the evening.

Intoxicating nose of dark ripe fruit, lead pencil, loads of iodine, sandalwood, cigar box... Loads of ripe tannins with high refreshing acidity, ripe strawberries, very sappy taste, finish 45 seconds... BRAVO!!
