Illahe Pinot Gris

Medium nose shows lemon peel, white melon, something funky like white mushroom, bruised pear. Palate unexpectedly layered, shows spice of white pepper, fieldgrass, lemon curd, melons, white pear, orange zest. Surprising complexity for a Pinot Gris, I would guess there's lees aging involved. It does say whole cluster and barrel fermented. Excellent value and outshines it's category.
