Smell was HOT. Acetone, dirt, cassis, overripe berry, some green pepper. Taste: Ran through venturi, let it breathe 20 mins. Nothing real special. Flat through middle mouth, alcohol heat and rough finish. This "might" get better with some age.

Just an enjopyable wine to have standing around the barbeque waiting for the steaks to cook. not complicated, but just a fun wine to have around.

Nice Shiraz. Not complex, but solid from beginning to end. Great QPR.

Very bold, strong Shiraz. Probably better with beef- not Chinese!

I bought this on a lark recommendation from a wine merchant. This is a ridiculously good wine for an $11. Yes, it's jammy with blackberries and chocolate. It is not a great Shiraz as it lacks the typical pepper and earth of bigger, far more expensive wines. Not a long tail, but for a summer quaff, this is outstanding. I'm headed back to my wine shop for a case.

In terms of depth, not three dimensional, but not one dimensional either. Tight, oaky, with berries in there somewhere. Clearly could use decanting for an hour or two. An hour later, the oak manifests itself as the dominant characteristic on the nose. A pleasing mouthfeel that is slightly acidic, the wine does coat the mouth making for a moderate finish. It is a nice change of pace wine for everyday drinking, and the jury is still out on whether this …

took some time to open up and alcohol to blow off. stewed fruits, plum, spice, and earthy aromas lead way to a plump mouthfeel. Flavor of dark fruits with notes of white pepper, and ceder. decent finish. good QPR.

For the price ($8) this was exceptionally good. However it took a few hours to smooth out and open up. After that, it was a very pleasant Aussie-style shiraz. (The 2nd day was even better - would have rated a 89+ from me.)

Nose of stewed dark fruit and chocolate. Mouth is a bit lighter than expected with good balance of fruit, pepper, and tannin. Tasted young though.

If I decide not to have a second glass of wine (I drink small pours), it is usually because the wine is not that great. In this case, I stopped after one pour because I wanted to savor what I think is one of the best wines I have ever had at this price point. Okay, so it lacked the typical black pepper of a Aussie Shirax, and it was a bit jammy, but it was almost creamy in its …
