Needs air, air, and more air, but then it becomes velvety smooth and delicious. Flavors, tannins and alcohol all well integrated with no rough edges, which is saying a lot for a 14.5% octane wine. I noticed a bit of peppery spice on the finish towards the end of the evening. Drank with NYT Spicy Spaghetti and Caramelized Onions & Herbs recipe, which was a great pairing.

14.5% alkohol.

Needs 2+ hours before any real flavors and aromas come out to play. Only then did I start seeing the mushroom notes others have commented on. There’s a hint of wood, a soft fuzziness to it, but still a big, rounded mouth feel. There’s high acid, high alcohol (14.5%, but it’s not obtrusive), and moderate minus tannins. Moderate plus to high complexity and finish. Overall this is a really nice wine that I’m quite enjoying. However, it’s still fairly young …

Too acidic. No complexity. Just didn't enjoy it.

Décanter 2 bonnes heure. Magnifique. Élégant fin.

Nice, but far more taut and strict than the bottle we'd sampled in Tuscany from a Coravin cabinet. I'll age these. Only hints of the porcini character I'd found previously.

Quick tiny tasting pour -- what a unique and remarkable nose! I have never in my entire life had a wine that immediately brought to mind dried porcini. Fruit behind it. I'll seek this out.

yes this is still a baby e: crimson with a beautiful orange tinge n: starts with barnyard, moves to woody p: tannins be full yet fine grainy few days later n: cherry syrup without the sweet p: really jumps all over, super subtle to full vigor, sharp acidity to forest floor. finish comes through the nose with some alcohol. vanilla

Rich woody aromas almost reminded me of a Rioja at first. Some more typical Sangiovese cherry emerged after some time, along with a distinct note of nail polish remover. Good concentration on the palate but lacking in freshness/brightness and not fully my style at the moment - though I also don't think it's quite come together yet, may be in a transitional stage. And perhaps a Castellina Chianti Riserva is just a bit of a shock to the system after …

Very light on nose. A lot red berries. Good acidity, almost no tannins.

One of my favorite everyday wines. Bibbiano is an excellent example (IMHO) of a modern style Chianti.

Beautiful, bursting with aromas of red fruit. Strawberry, cherry, Forest floor, a little barnyard. On the palate is medium acidity, medium tannin, cherry and a little oak. Beautifully balanced wine

Very smooth with a bite of acidity on the finish. Good with food or by itself.

Tasted vis-avis the Capannino, this is a bit lighter and more on the red fruit. A classic Chianti, bitter-sour notes, cherries galore, good acidity and some tannin at the end; a food wine, but more ready than the Capannino,

Brought to Italian BYO. Slow ox'd for 12h in fridge. Just the purest Sangiovese fruit. Proper sour cherry, red berries, little kick of acidity, absolute hint of earth/leather complexity. Tannins were not too powerful but supported the structure. Proper medium body on the palate. Reasonably long finish and excellent quality. Definitely a wine to drink now and young. Probably at peak. 90

Medium ruby red in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes, herbs & a hint of minerals. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, plums & strawberries with herbs & minerals. Lingering finish. Quite accessible at present with decanting & airing but has the structure & fruit to continue with further development with additional aging.

This is my first bottle of the 2019, but my second vintage of this wine. Similar to the 2018 in what I think of as a clean, modern style, but with a bit more spice and more noticeable tannins. Certainly drinkable now, but should continue to improve for another couple of years at least. Very nice IMHO.

Decanted briefly and followed. I liked this a lot. Effusive nose of tart red fruit sith underlying burly character as prior note suggests. Palate had great structure with the classic Chianti fruit of sour cherry. Nice acidity and herbal dusty notes on the finish. Simple, sure, but hits all the right notes in the right way. Very impressed for the price. Solid 90 for me. Day 2: 2/3rd of the bottle the next day after fridge for 24h. Candied strawberries …

Chianti Classico Collection (Ritz-Carlton Chicago) : Walk around tasting, brief note. Burly and woodsy without the fun, forward fruit I prefer in an entry level Chianti. OK.
