{screwcap} Aging nose of limestone and sea-shells, with a touch of lemon. The palate’s bone-dry, only slightly citric in its flavours (lime), but with a medium-bodied, chalky texture. Sadly, the acid seems to have collapsed, leaving the finish only short-medium length, but worse, rather lacking in freshness; to the point where the whole thing rather sags on the palate in a flabby way. A disappointing showing for Chromy’s flagship riesling; drink now on this evidence.

Wine-Ark Cellar Club Tasting 10 - November 2009. Josef Chromy, Giant Steps, Craggy Range (Roof Terrace Australian Museum) : Nose: Sharp lime, then hazelnuts (oddly) and alcohol Mouth: Lime, crisp, very good, not too viscose. Very nice indeed. This doesn't really have any of the kerosene nose despite 4 years. Might have to invest in some at the very reasonable AUD 36
