One of the best zins around. Pop and poured but this needed about an hour to really start to sing. Dark fruits, great mouthfeel and good finish. Aging very well and probably not at its peak. Would definitely buy again.

This was singing pitch perfect and varietally on point as others have recently noted, superior to a Quivira Black Boar 2016 which earned WS93 vs. this at WS91. Just more terroir expression on the bramble spicey fruit.

Simply delicious. At a good place now w/everything that great Zins from Limerick Lane show.

This bottle was a touch better than the one we opened in August, and showed best on night two. At that point, it was less sweet and not showing any of the alcoholic warmth I noted this summer. Just a good, straightforward Zinfandel with a little spice to complement the brambly fruit. I still prefer both the ‘14 and ‘16 to this vintage.

A solid effort, but nothing to draw to another bottle. Textbook Zin briar and pepper, calm tannins and a medium finish.

This wine was excellent, and encompasses everything that I love about LL zins when they're on. Violets and baking spice on the nose, but the real magic is on the palate. The deep, dark fruits hit on a different level than most zins, and it makes you perk up and pay attention as soon as you take the first sip. Add in just the right amount of acidity and you get a wine that is drinking in its absolute prime. …

Raspberry/Black Raspberry notes commingle with vanilla, allspice, and bramble throughout. Toggles between power and elegance, with lively tannins lingering on the medium-long finish.

This came across as a bit hot and a little too sweet tonight. I was hoping for more complexity. The ‘16 is definitely a few steps beyond the ‘15 at this point.

Purple in color. 14.8% ABV. Fantastic nose of red and black fruits, baking spices, flowers and pepper. Medium to full bodied with mouth watering acidity. Impeccable balance. Packed with fruit. Black cherry, raspberry compote, cocoa powder and cracked pepper on the palate. The finish is exceptionally long and spice. Absolutely delightful Zinfandel that truly showcases how special this vineyard is. Best over the next 1-2 years.

Should you be interested, I’ve uploaded info for this vintage which you can peruse at your leisure. 😉 ≈90 min decant into a plastic, cylindrical pitcher which was then closed. Rich, opulent wine with blue and black fruit. Not hugely complex, this mouth filling wine overwhelms objections with its ability to deliver a great punch.

Chris is an incredible winemaker and we generally love all of his wines. This one definitely has some time left on it - let it age and it’ll get even better.

Red fruit and spicey at first. With air, herbals, licorice. With a bit more air, it really comes to life, with blackberry jam, plus the herbals and red fruit. Decent acidity, light tannins. Paired wonderfully with a BBQ tri tip and parmesan acorn squash with rosemary and thyme.

Opened after I realized the Carlisle Carlisle was corked. Not sure of the price as this was a gift, but this was a great Zin and one I'll pay more attention to in the future if not too $. Stylistically, this reminded me of a Scherrer, though with its own flavor profile.
