Another very good bottle of this. Last bottle and too bad, this was really good and an excellent value.

Another impressive showing of this nice bottle. Opened up nicely over the course of the dinner and was a very good companion for our super spicy Mapo Tofu.

Tasted over 2 evenings. This is a stunning wine, especially considering the moderate price tag. It's from the Halenberg vineyard, and shares similar characteristics to the GG, but not exactly on the same level of complexity, ageability and pure thrill, but coming relatively close. Pretty notes of freshly cut white peach, some greenish apple, lime, also beautiful crushed stone minerality, as well as some spiciness and a touch of herbal notes. Der Wein war 2015 ganz ordentlich (85-86 Punkte), dann aber ab Mitte 2016 total zurückgezogen, kaum trinkbar. Jetzt hat der Wein sein Reifefenster erreicht und hat sich extrem positiv entwickelt: Leichter Schieferduft, im Mund dann würzig, dicht ausgewogen. Im Abgang kommt die Schieferwürze wieder so richtig raus. Sehr ausgewogener und dichter Wein. Wirklich fein! Bleibt sicherlich noch 1-2 Jahre im optimalen Reifefenster, das er jetzt erreicht hat. Unharmonisch. Eher schlank und dabei eine unharmonische, spitze, dominante Säure. Nicht gut. 75-80 Punkte? War wohl nie gut und wird wohl nie gut werden. Schlecht gelagert? Wine T. Düsseldorf. Am zweiten und dritten Tag dann etwas besser. Schank und sehr trocken. Eher zum Essen. 82-83 Punkte?

Typical rieslig nose, reluctant nose, in the palate fresh, middlelong, clean finish, some citrus and green apple

A Rieslingfeier of our Own; 2/13/2017-2/18/2017 (Traben-Trarbach, Germany) : 5 g/L residual sugar. Although this is a much leaner wine than the 2015 Frühtau we tasted just before, this too never had that screechy acidity that many dry rieslings suffer from. This is a more restrained bottle, with less fruity exuberance and more mineral raciness.

Here I found a wonderfully fresh and vibrant bouquet, with crushed stone and yellow florals. On the palate, soft, mineral-driven textures gave way to notes of green apple. It was long and tart on the finish, with stone fruit and citrus, and a zing of minerality.

Peach, lemon, lots of mineral notes. Fairly dry. Good with the roast octopus and better with the kale salad with pear and goat's cheese. Apparently better with time but good now. At Mediterra in Princeton, NJ - $68 / bottle

Tasted next to 2015 Halgans. Herbal, bright, showing white fruit and notes of citrus fruit. Very mineral, a little skinny. Intense and long. 90-91+

Epler, tropiske frukter, litt sopptoner. Frisk, velbalansert, lang.

Helles Grüngelb, zart duftiger Riesling mit moderatem Alkohol. Feine Säure, filigraner Körper; zart mineralisch/kräuterig.

Beautiful nose of sweet notes and white peaches. The wine is dry with a medium acidity and great balance. As the name says, it's very mineral and refreshing. Nice price and quality ratio.
