Jammy w slight tannins. The wine looks inky colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like blueberry and black currant (cassis). It tastes like blueberry. The body is medium/full. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

A gift from K and E. Dripping with ripe cherries, plums, cola and a touch of hillside brush, this offering is perfect for the fan of the fruit-forward. Some garigue in the bouquet, although the finish comes up a bit short. A rewarding dinner partner. Love the scarab on the label. Drink now. Worth Seeking Out.

Consistent with my notes of 12/07/17 except the fruit wasn’t quite as bright and the tannins more subdued. A very civilized Zin.

My prior notes stand, but this is maturing into one of our favorite Zins. 93 pts.

Wow. This is one of the best zins we have had the pleasure of drinking. Had this with grilled flank steak, and it was amazing. Spice and pepper on the nose with abundant fruit (plum, blackberry, blueberry). Highly recommended!

This bottle? Just a lot of sweet fruit. Not enough pepper or briar to make it seem like a zin. Ok but not great. Weird. ps....got a little better with 1-2 hours of air. Took on a little more zin-like briar nose and just the faintest white pepper. Pretty tame bottle.

As others noted, a very nice zin. A little hot when first opened (15.6 ABV) and more oak than expected from a zin, but it settles down to being quite wonderful after 30-60 air time. Well made.

Wonderful zin fruit and spice. Maybe the best Brown '15 zin of the bunch. Plenty of sweet fruit and spice with a long finish. Beautiful!

Big Up! To David Brown and the BE staff. We initially tasted this at Brown Downtown (the very stylish tasting room in rebuilt Downtown Napa) As good as that was, opening a bottle to pair with seasoned pork tenderloin followed by a glass on its own was wonderful. A silky smooth entry with a charming raspberry/blackberry mix. A contrast to the brambly Zins of Amador and the over-sweet Zins from another, more famous Napa producer. This wine is dangerous for …
