Paul Pernot et ses Fils Pommard Les Noizons

This is a good old-fashioned rustic Pommard, just starting to enter its optimal drinking window, even for a village wine. Sinewy, slightly stemmy nose that shows spice and brambly fruit, with anise, cranberry and pomegranate notes. Improved with air and was best on day 2, when it began to mellow and show a bit more of its pretty cherry-laced red fruit core.

Very pretty wine, albeit not overly complex. Smoky red & black fruit on the nose. The palate is a little more straightforward, but this is enjoyable.

Really good bottle, great showing. Opened at 4:30, the best glass is at 9:30. Plum and blackberry fruit, but the whole thing is shot through with this heady muskiness, this aphrodisiac kind of animale quality. This does not have the midpalate depth or density of a 1er cru wine, it is not a profound thing. That said, it does truly li9nbger on the finish. A translucent ruby in the glass, with a great Pinot nose with some feral scents, and dark, "brooding" black & red fruits. Less substantive on the palate - pleasant, but somewhat soft, with ripe black fruits. Very likable, and this bottle seems very "ready" to me.

Showed tight and unyielding, which is disappointing, considering the beauty of the bottle a couple of years ago.

Really good, surpassed my expectations. It took a few hours if air time (did not decant) to really blossom, and I will wait a few years before getting back involved. It's pretty upon opening, and then with plenty of air shows beautifully, with fresh dark fruit and a pungent and complex muskiness, and a pleasing leaden almost steely minerality. Deep colour, strong nose, deep flavours. But very pronounced acidity, which was not dispelled by decanting, or by giving it 24 hours of air. Give it 2 more years and try again.

consistent w/ last notes - seems like it has enough stuffing for another 5-10 yrs - no signs of age. pretty wine, with lots of air will develop some sappiness.

Just a lovely wine - classic pommard - forest floor with candied cherry notes on the nose. just floats over the palate w/ nice minerals and long finish - its building a bit of sappiness w/ air. quite charming

Opened for an hour. Should have decanted for an hour. No hurry to drink so you can leave in cellar or drink.

just loved this wine and drinking beautifully now. Just a lovely nose - classic pommard w/ forest floor, hints of evergreen and spice and juicy sour cherries. Solid through the mid-palate and mouth-coating - with a nice streak of acidity through the middle. what's not to like?

Some leakage and mold under the seal on top of the cork. Did not seem to affect wine. Slightly above average.

At first taste, I thought a nice simple elegant pinot. Then this came to life with some air time. I hate to think of burgundy as a value region, but in this case I would put it against most US based pinots and this would win.
