Vin étonnant, marqué surtout par un côté végétal et herbacé, nous emmenant plus vers un Barolo chinato que vers un Amarone. Surprenant et désarçonnant.

Deep but clean. Not plumby or over-ripe; some spice and richness with nice roundness. Lovely Amarone that has matured nicely.

Served with Lamb Shanks and it went very well despite being over 20 years old. The fruit was somewhat diminished, but still rich enough to stand up to the Lamb. This wine could hold for a little longer, but sooner is better than later.

Showing terrific balance right now if a tad bit one dimensional.

Blind home wine tasting with MOT Scoring sheet : Sweet and dry with a light dust (not clean chalkiness but slightly dirtier). Tobacco on the nose - Clearly aged and orange. Do not delay in drinking this up asap as past its prime but still drinkable.

drank w/woottons on 08/26/2011. Very nice with bruchetta and not nearly as sweet as others described. Rich with black fruit and a long finish.

Starting to get brown at edges but drinking surprisingly well for age. Elegant and subdued for Amarone. Lovely. Good cellaring pays off.

Nice dark chocolate Amarone. Somewhat thin on the finish.

I was absolutely seduced by this wine, a kinder, gentler Amarone with a demure, elegant personality. Decanted an hour before tasting. Thin and bricky in color. A strong, musty nose of leather, berries, and honey. A lovely, nuanced, curvy taste progression: elemental sweetness (too much sweetness?) up front, followed by partly dried currants, strawberries, vanilla, and a big bouquet of wildflowers, ending with a flourish of spicy white pepper. Any tannins have softened out of the picture completely, giving way …

great, but sweet. Back in these times, there was no "recioto" doc, so sometimes amarones had a bit of residual sugar...

Very nice brick-red color. Weak aroma. Taste - drying out, some uncertain chocolate and plum characters. Nearly without aftertaste. Tasted after ½, 1, 2, 3 and 4 hours in decanter. Good for $5 but not for $50!

This was a total surprise on the good side. The nose was warm and filled with black cherries and what semmed to be apricot!!!Deep deep nose loaded with fruit. The taste was very solid and ready and it felt very much in harmony. Long nice aftertaste on the midpalate that after 15-20 secods filled the whole mouth.....Nice.
