50 minutes in glass. Very earthy, good power for this Pinot (I really like Shea). V - Clear, medium ruby, garnet edges. medium meniscus. N - Wonderful red and blue fruits. Cran, Pom, Cherry and Blueberry. Soil, butter, mushroom, sourdough. Palate is a tad more green. Plenty of power, more earthy than fruity, bit of metal on the finish. Carole actually liked this better than I did....

So this is the 3rd bottle that I have had that has the same raisiny/pruney smell that is off putting . Not sure what is going on but not enjoyable.very Dark for an Oregon Pinot. Unfortunately I still have 3 more in my cellar.

something seemed off with the wine with a prune / raisiny smell and cloudy appearance. Hopefully a one off.

From magnum. Delicious. Earthy, balanced with very pleasant red fruit. Nice structure and density bring a good weight to the palate. Satisfying and ready to go right now. Wish I had more.

2019 PH Shea PN is beautiful. Walks the line between red and black fruit (agree with WS "raspberry" note), remaining silky and elegant. Can't imagine ever enjoying a young PN more than this, but tannins will mellow a bit and provide peak drinking for another 5+/- yrs. I'm a HUGE fan.

(mostly) Burgundy night at the Shack (Willamette Wine Storage, Portland OR) : The nose is youthful and vibrant with plump tones of sassafras, herbs, tart red cherries, orange peels, raspberries, purple flowers, spice notes, and some red currants. There is decent depth here with this really relying more on its fruit to accomplish its goal. The Medium/full bodied feel is plush and plump with crisp, medium+ acidity and silky, medium tannins. This could likely use a few years to round …

Medium nose shows some earth, funk, orange zest, potpourri. Palate is approachable, light fruit, balanced structure, complex but subtle, medium light tannins come into the dry finish. Feels more ageworthy, I would buy this and hold and drink their other selections sooner.

PNP into Riedel Burgundy glass (“Leaf” day): Pale purple to the eyes. Pommard, Wadenswil & Courey clones. 480 cases produced. More marine soil than the Wichmanns which is volcanic. Clearly more red fruits here with lots to savor like wild strawberries and cherries, some cherry cola notes. Good amount of spices too. Very complete on palate. Well integrated. 93-94 points.

PNP into Riedel Burgundy glass (“Leaf” day): Pale purplish to the eyes. 777 & Wadenswil clones. 480 cases produced. A lot of spices on the nose here that sets it apart. Good amount of purplish cherry fruits. Decidedly more powerful on the palate as well. Good bright acidity and packs a punch. 93-94 points.

Pnp, tart dried cranberries, tart cherry, dried herbs followed by a nice finish with a mineral streak running through. Very nice Oregon fruit forward Pinot that both myself and Cousin Pudge enjoyed.

Strong effort built for aging. Drinkable now, but for sure, this will improve with at least 3-5 more years. Great mix of fruit and terroir and oak. Shame that I can't time machine the second half of the bottle before finishing it.
