Note: I use a rating scale for which 85 represents a very good wine. A little from memory. For whatever reasons, not as impressive as the bottle I had 18 months ago. Still quite good, but not as flavorful and distinctive.

Just so f***ing lovely. I wish I had cases of this. The year since my last bottle has added some savoriness that is quite pleasing. Get on this.

Opened at a party, so no notes and just writing from memory, but quite nice with similar observations to prior (Sept. 2012) - grassy and herbaceous, mineral , stone fruit, citrus and some tropic fruits?

A bit from memory, bu this was an unusual, but excellent SB. Fingers and Dotchki nailed it in their reviews.

The easiest thing to say about this is that it's "like" a sancerre, and that's quite true (this producer does make an excellent one), but also misses the point, because in addition to minerality that's a trademark of that appellation, the Menetau-Salon offers some lovely musk base notes lifted by the scent of fresh rain. Enough acidity for heavy foods, but a slightly oily mouthfeel gives it grip and leads to a finish of cantaloupe and buckwheat honey. This is …

Lovely nose, crisp, excellent typicity, herbs, blackcurrant and gooseberry; bright and refreshing palate, nice weight of ripe fruit, energetic but alas with disturbing and raw bitters; good length. Others seem to have noticed these bitters too, so probably not a faulty bottle. Pity.

Better chilled than PnP from cellar. Tasty Sauv Blanc Sancerre. Calcerous flavors starting to shine around the white tree fruits.

PnP. Lemongrass on the nose. Unfortunately not much on the palate and seemed a bit watery. I recall the bottle consumed a few years ago having greater flavors & being crisper.

Yummy Sancere with fruits, vibrant limestone minerality that was quite popular with the gang at Ted& Connie's poolside party. Touch harsh on their grassiness finish, but tasty in a way like a bitters.

Complex Sauvignon blanc. Not the typical crisp acidic American style. Instead, soft complex with straw, peach and notes of grass.

Similar notes, but a bit more integrated and no bitterness. Great value.

Fragrant aromas of honeysuckle and pear. White fruit, mineral and petrol flavors. I enjoyed the bitter finish, others might not. Nicely balanced, enough there to keep me interested, but not super complex.

Even better now than earlier this year and just a great value when compared with the Merry Edwards, etc of the world. Delicious, crisp & succulent, lots of mineral body and lip-smacking acidity. 5+11+17+8 = 91

An excellent Sancerre, not very fruity, but with an interesting deep flavor that combines the terroir and some white fruits. It is a classy wine.

Very perfumey nose. Lots of petrol on the palate but not a lot of fruit. Not my favorite Sancerre - it was just too disjointed.

Had over two nights, no notes taken, but this was excellent with hints of grass and herbs, an array of citrus notes, moderate but just enough acidity on a mineral core.

This is a fantastic sauvignon blanc that exhibited persistent fruit and vibrance, with good balance. First bottle consumed at Tilia, great restaurant in Minneapolis. A second tasting of a bottle ordered through a wine store was equally fine. Steve F really liked it as well. About 22 dollars; worth it.

Nice nose showing peaches, green apple, river rock, honey and hay. Sweet tart fruit and grass over a rocky acidity and snappy finish. Very nice!

Delicious again. Holding it's structure and balance well, this is one of the better buys from the garagiste crew. Just what I'm hoping for in a Loire SB. 90pts, still

color: light straw; nose: grass and flowers; taste: powerful, flinty apple taste, medium-to-long muscular gravelly finish; overall: take-no-prisoners style of wine, masculine and edgy but also polished -- Vladimir Putin comes to mind as a current-day human analog.

Ripe tropical citrus, gooseberry, and lime palate with a touch of grassy herbs and moderate acidity. Citrusy finish with a little bitterness that isn't too off-putting. A nice food wine.

Delicious and entrancing. Very drinkable, but there's something a little more to it than I expected for as pleasant as it is. I love the mouthwatering acidity that races along the edges of my tongue and the richness of the texture. This is a style of Sauvignon Blanc that I can really get into.

Hedonistic nose packed with tropical fruit. On the mouth the wine remains tropical and fleshy while also being well balanced by its acidity. This is a generous style, and an easy pleaser. 91-92. Good drinking right now.

Tropical, yellow fruit nose, but not giving too much up at the same time. On the palate this is slightly sweeter than I expected, but there is a good amount of acid and yellow fruit on the palate. Not particularly concentrated, but a great easy drinker.

popped and tasted at cellar temp, followed as it chilled. Very light pale straw color and quick legs. Lovely mix of tropical and citrus aromas, and I even get a surprising hint of hazelnut. Palate is rich and fruity with supporting acidity, but as others noted it's not super crisp or vibrant. It's in no way flabby though, and I like this balance because the fruit is so delicious I don't need any more bite to the attack. Gooseberry, grapefruit, …

Wow, another great Garagiste find! Bright, zesty, A great representation of what this grape can be. Suprisingly, was the hit of the meal at Thanksgiving. Kind of bummed me out because it was the least expensive as well!
