Mi Sueño Mi Sueño Cabernet Sauvignon Herrera Rebecca, USA, California, Napa Valley

Took sailing out on the bay. No formal notes, but out of some cheap boat glasses this actaully drank well, closer to the first bottle if a bit boozy. No score due to the conditions.

Not really moving me like the last bottle, though it improved somewhat with air. The oak was out of balance, masking the gorgeous fruit I know was in there both on the nose and the palate. Still had a tremendous finish.

A 'wow' wine, delicious, like a Mi Sueno cab on steroids: more pure fruit, more fragrance, more tannin, more length on the finish. Impeccable balance is maintained throughout, and the finish is waves of chocolate, tobacco, espresso. Rolando can make some great cab, there is no doubt about it. Carpignano is in Coombsville, the newest Napa AVA, and I believe the distinction is well deserved.

Big, bold and tannic. A monster. Needs several more years in the cellar. This one was from the Napa Valley Auction... Great potential!
