Medium ruby. Blackberries, black cherries, dried cherries, licorice, smoke and, curiously, root beer on the nose. Dried and stewed red fruits on the palate with charcoal, slate and pepper. 14.5 alcohol and fresh acidity carry a nicely mature wine.
