NobleRottersSydney - Yarra Valley (360 Bar & Dining, Sydney) : {screwcap} [Glenn] Liquorice, blackberry, prosciutto, Nice. Some development. Tangy flavours too; the aromas are mixed with a sweet fruitiness and an earthy mushroom character on the palate. Still very much with a new world accent. Medium weight, with low/medium powder-and-chalk tannins. Dry, sits a bit on the front palate, but is pleasant and open and about at peak drinking I reckon.

Very Good. Clear, pale, ruby to very broad graduated garnet rim. Clean, medium (+) developing nose, red and black cherry, black plum and smoke. Dry, medium acidity, medium (-) fine tannins (35% new french oak), medium (+) alcohol (oddly at 13%, a little warm), medium bodied, medium flavour intensity of sweet black cherry, red plum and cedar. Cherries, strawberries, I get the rose petals, herbs and some light tannins on the finish. This was tasty with our chicken sausage. Winemaker says this will drink until 2020. We paid $17 with free shipping and that was a good deal. It is 36% new oak.

moderately lush,touch woody-woodsy, earthy classic aussie PN nose with light cherry tones is rather pleasant. delicately fruity taste is fairly satisfying, hair sweet but well-balanced by fresh acidity, suggestion of minerality, and light trace of tannin. bright finish is a touch vulgar-gluey. should hold for at least 3years

Tasted blind. Ruby garnet, medium (-) intensity. The nose is medium (+) in intensity, with aromas of strawberries and cherries and some oak. The palate is dry, with medium acidity and tannins and medium (+) alcohol. A very nice pinot for the price. Won a gold at the HLS&R in 2014.

Popped and poured. Translucent ruby red. Rose petals, stalks, red cherries, red licorice and spicy oak, an expressive nose rising from the glass. Light body, watery mouthfeel, tart red cherries give way to raspberry, white plum and teeth cleaning bright acidity. At four years of age, the fruit may fade before the acidity becomes more harmonious. Good quaff-ability. One hour open, less tart and fruit improves mid-palate. Open two hours, medium body and lighter acidity.

Intensely fragrant and minerally aromas of dark cherries, raspberries, dried herbs and subtle spice. Youthful, bright palate of dark cherries, raspberries, plums with lemongrass and spice amongst a minerally background. Concentrated and richly flavoured, the acid is quite upfront but softens with aeration. Medium bodied with med plus length, this is an impressive Pinot from a top vintage that will age for the next decade.

Deep ruby. Deep dark and brooding. Dark cherries, almost plum, tar, spices. Intense ripe dark sweet fruit. Plush and big for a pinot. Mouth coating tannin. Nice finish. Perhaps slightly sweet.

Classic Pinot Noir and at $15/bottle, it is one of the few regularly priced sub-$20 Pinot Noirs I have had that actually is pleasingly drinkable. You would not mistake this for a top end Burgundy but at this price point, I would rate this with a fairly substantial QPR.
