Very nice smooth fine blanc. Lemon, citrus and apple on the palate. Enjoyable white wine that pairs nicely with cheese, chicken and seafood.

This has certainly evolved, putting on weight and moving towards stone fruit and longer finish. Wasn't sure what to expect, considering the age, and was a pleasant surprise!

Echo cono sur and baron slick notes. Suspect lower recent scores had flawed bottles. This is a delicious bottle, great QPR.

Pale lemon green, mineral and smoke, love the acidity, a bit rich with some heat, exotic fruit but under control. Hmm

Pale straw. Grape fruit, apricot, lime peel and wet stone. Rather lean on the palate with a medium acidity and medium- finish. The nose of this wine is attractive, however, the palate falls short.

Pale yellow with miniature bubbles. Looks very much like a standard Sauvignon Blanc. Distinct lemongrass on the nose. Light up front with some acidic lemon developing. Slightly sour at the back end which is the biggest negative factor. It's all good up to that point, but a disappointing finish.

Clean, elegant, oak influenced herb, lime peel, and grapefruit aromas and flavours, all in a reductive style. It has a rounded texture with nicely balanced acids. Herbally and guava flavours come to the fore on the mid-palate. Juicy, long finish.

Grgich is one of my favorite domestic Fume Blancs and this vintage, with its aromas of limes, gooseberries, lemongrass, and honeysuckle is simply delightful. The palate is fresh and vibrant, tensile and refreshing, yet remains restrained and balanced. Notes of white peach, green apricot, and white pepper show a lovely saltiness that pushes through the persistent, lemongrass finish.

Mixed California Wines (My Place - Washington, DC) : Pale lemon color. Aromas of spices and herbs (oregano, lemongrass, white pepper) on top of guava and white peach. Plump texture, bright acidity, sets things nicely for the apricot, white peach and lemon fruit. Notes of honeysuckle, dandelion, baby’s breath, along with white pepper, oregano, sea salt, hints of cream and vanilla. Always a reliably delicious and intriguing Sauvignon Blanc, and 2015 is no exception. This spends six months on the …

N: VERY slightly muted/closed; citrusy, poss apples; poss the lemongrass the label mentions? With air/warmth, notes of green olives P: MF, poss Med, body; Nice frt on front buttressed by mid palate acidity, this BUILDING through the early part of the INCREDIBLY long finish, then slowly, SEAMLESSLY tapering off to an ultimately MOST pleasant finish. [With air/warmth, ALMOST a rndness on entry.] Personally, this was one of THE finest CA Sauvignon Blancs I can recollect tasting, & I **quite** agree …

Understated and elegant, this is a reference point for California Sauvignon Blanc. There's a feminine aspect to the notes of oranges, grapefruit, lemongrass, and a hint of flint. Bright, vibrant, and juicy, there is tremendous clarity and focus on the palate. Finishes with admirable restraint, balance, and length. A complete wine.

Very nice dry white. Totally picked up the notes of lemongrass and pacific citrus. Less grapefruit than others and which I really appreciate. This has a wonderful weight and mouthfeel that paired wonderfully with Md Crab-cakes and tomatoes. While not a steal price wise this was very nice for a treat!

Could be described as smoky or flinty (a la Pouilly Fume) but I think the aroma is more sulphuric SO2 than grape derived. Peachy, guava fruit on the palate. Smoky finish. Tasted blind. 2/5

This is surprisingly good! Medium-bodied with round notes of citrus, hickory salt, some baking soda, and then a streak of barnyard on the finish; one could definitely find some "fume" (smoke) in this Fumé Blanc if one looked for it... Terribly quaffable. 14.1% ABV. 88-89 (Excellent QPR too.)

Pale yellow. Aroma of oak, citrus, and flowers. Full body. Not your typical SB. Oak, fruit, melon, some citrus. I'm on the fence here. I like it but it is more robust than I expected. Megan likes it, likes the oak and the medium acidity.

PHMG WAG: 2013 Napa Reds (Lyon Valley) : Light yellow in the glass, this wine has an open nose of white citrus, melon, and grass. Some tropical fruit added on the palate. Oak gives it some richness and might make it controversial. I like the depth, the acidity, and the finish, but borderline QPR.

This pale yellow wine (100% Sauvignon Blanc) was aged for six months on its lees in neutral French oak and was not allowed to undergo malolactic fermentation. It offers aromas and flavors of mango, lemongrass and melon, framed with crisp acidity and seamless alcohol (14.1%). Solid on the mid-palate, it closes with a lengthy, mineral-laden finish. Varietally correct and very refreshing, this white can serve as a apéritif or as a partner to light fare. Drink now-2017.

And yes it is barrel fermented sauvigon blanc. They are the only ones that still make it 100 barrel I am being told. 90% foudre. 10% small oak. Hay and straw on the nose. And yes some barrel too. Rich and powerful on the palate but really great acidity. Overall that is really darn good stuff. Shockingly good. And yeah its expensive AT $30 but its there.

This light yellow/gold wine offers aromas and flavors of pear, lemongrass, mango and melon. Medium-bodied and crisply acidic, it adds a wisp of well-integrated oak. There is no heat from its 14.1% alcohol and the middle palate is solid. Closing with a lengthy crisp finish, this Sauvignon Blanc is a cut above the crowd (albeit at a premium price). Drink now-2017.

Aromas of green pepper and pineapple with light oak. Typical bright fruit and minerality give way to a jalepeño overtone as the wine gets a couple hours of air. Mild acidity, moderate oak, medium to heavy weight.

From the sunny 2013 vintage, these grapes were organically farmed at the southern tip of Napa Valley near San Francisco Bay. Fermented in 900-gallon French foudres. 6 months in previously-used small French barrels. For me, this drinks more like a Chardonnay than a Sauv Blanc. The mild oak treatment is evident on the nose and in the mouthfeel. Light golden in color with lemon curd and toasty notes on the nose. Medium-full bodied with a long finish. More of a …

Definite note of jalapeño pepper mixed with some citrus and minerality. Agree with previous tasters that the wine is "mild" but overall a "pleasant" one. Oak was only pronounced on nose when I swirled the wine with the opening of the glass covered, otherwise subtle. I have to say that some of the minerality turns into a goofball aftertaste on the finish. If I place what it is over these two glasses I will update. Jeff "It tastes oaky"

Medium straw. Firm, resonant, and stony notes of lychees, white nectarine, guava, minerals and touches of cream and sage. Has an element of smoke and a long stonefruit pit finish. Lacks the punch of other vintages but still enjoyable.
