from Mag, better than the previous one but still lacking the cleanness and freshness of other (cooler) vintages

From Mag., nice balance between fruit and wood, not too heavy, has nicely developed in 11years

Consistent with previous note, although it felt a bit more together this time, slightly more fruit and less pronounced botrytis.

Deep greenish gold. Muted nose, toasted oak and vanilla lead on to other balsamic tones and gunsmoke, some white flowers and a distinct trace of botrytis. In the mouth the wine is viscous, full bodied, some mature yellow plum fruit, perfumed noble rot and a long minerally-oaky finish. Good balance and interesting in its way, particularly the strong botrytis character. Fully mature, drink now.

Wild aromatics with bitter almonds, musky florals and pine. Follows-up with more of the bitter almonds, slightly rusty acids and too-ripe apricots. Elements of botrytis/fungus. Abrupt finish. Disjointed, but does have a charm and personality. Shame it doesn't follow through on the promise of the nose.

Ett korrekt klart vin, intensiv färg, citrongult i färgen. Doft av ek, citrus, mogna gula äpplen, lite rieslingstuk. Smakade siom doften, värme från 13,5 % alkohol.

Wine Lovers Discussion Group (Slim's Restaurant, Cincinnati, Ohio) : Light on the nose. Pretty yellow colour. Good fruit with a perceptible mineral core. Slightly obtrusive oak that could integrate over time. Nice fruit finish with hint of secondary mineral, peach and cream. Could fool me for a Meursault and has definite potential, but a bit low on the enjoyment factor at this time.
