An elegant and complex Borolo. Full bodied with dark fruit, oak and leather with a bit of spicy finish. Balanced with good structure. Very approachable.

Very nice. A quick decant. Balance leans towards the fruit, but the flavors are fantastic. Drink now or hold.

Medium dark reddish garnet in color with ever-so-slight clearing at the edges. Full, forward & aromatic nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, boysenberries & plums with overtones of floral notes of roses & orange rind, earthy/dusty notes, tar, herbs, minerals & a hint of cedar in the background. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, mulberries & plums, earthy, minerals, spices, herbs & a hint of vanilla/oak in …

Appearance: pale, garnet Nose: medium plus intensity; aromas of dried flower, red currant, red cherry, red rose petals, dusty, tar, leather, mushroom. It’s developing. Palate: dry, high acidity, high tannins, high alcohol, medium plus body, medium plus flavour intensity, mushroom really come across in the palate. The finish is medium plus. Overall, it’s a very good wine. Can drink now but has potential for further ageing. This is a modern style Barolo and great to approach now. There are pretty …

Dark ruby colour. Floral notes, ripe red and dark fruit, ripe cherry, blackberry, coffee, chocolate, spices and marzipan, with good acidity, partly resolved tannin and very good length. Flavourful, concentrated and intense. Super-ripe, liquor-like. Good depth, but also plenty of sweet, coconutty oak. Nebbiolo meets Amarone. Dessert-like, too much for me. I am not a fan of this wine, and of the style in general. That said, pairing the wine with a filet mignon tamed the oak and made the …

375ml. Again, no need to decant. 15 minutes is sufficient to balance it out. Tannins is still heavy. Hold or drink.

375ml. PnP. No need to decant. Oak is integrated well dark fruit. Cocoa flavor dominates the palate. Quite smooth and an adequate beverage.

Decanted 90 minutes and consumed over an hour. Very polished and feminine for a barolo. Lovely high toned classic barolo. No need to wait, but will likely fill out over the next decade. I have 11 left. Time will tell.

Improved considerably since my first bottle. Fruit and tannins both showing well. Black fruit, herbal nuances. Oak is there but does not overpower.

Not sure what to think about this. Too much oak influence and is sweet and disjointed now. Maybe it will come together in a few years.

Barolo Tasting for D. Renn's Birthday (Renn House) : Served non blind and wine was decanted for several hours. Medium red color with no sediment. On nose, big fruit but a pretty muted nose. On palate, dark cherry fruit, slightly medicinal & menthol. Pretty modern profile (or the vintage) with full body and long tannic finish. Very enjoyable. 92+

Crimson color; cherry liqueur, cedary, excotic new oak, and strong minerally stoniness on the nose; rich with some mintiness on the palate and tannins that really creep up on you. Give this some time.

The nose was massive, showing dark red fruits, mint, sweet spices and a note of orange peel. On the palate, it was velvety and rich with notes of cherry, sweet spice and minerals. The finish was long, showing hints of this wine’s otherwise hidden structure.
