Fresh red fruit on the nose. Opened an hour before dinner and it showed deep black cherry with good acidic balance. Not very complicated but great with grilled steak medium finish.

A very nice, polished Cabernet. It needed time to open up and show it’s true potential. Tight and, frankly, somewhat uninteresting at first, it opened into a wine with great presence. I wonderful nose of dark fruit, some menthol, violets, licorice and minerals. Some earth and herbal qualities emerge in the glass with a nice long finish, wrapped in silky tannins. Oh my, yes, this is a wonderful cab. Deep and dark, beautiful nose that permeates from the glass. Well integrated, strong dark cherry mouth/taste and a solid medium to long finish. You will not be disappointed with this.

The Gramercy Cab is drinking nicely now, but can easily go for several years. Medium-bodied, somewhat brooding. It is restrained and a bit tight yet, with nice blackberry and cassis fruit. Hints of spice box and pencil, but not overly predominant. Sufficient tannins to hold the structure together, but sweet and they soften nicely as the bottle opens up. Quite delicious, but not flashy.

Nose is mostly cedar, graphite, with not a ton of fruit. A little hard when first opened, but became more generous with air. Still, this is very dry and serious cabernet, not plush or fruity. Excellent example of a style you don't often see in Washington. Long finish.

Took to Easter Brunch. Nose was really nice with black cherry, cassis, herbs, tobacco, and a little lead. Palate was similar with currants, cherries, tobacco, graphite, and herbs. The finish was long in length and the structure was very nice. Seemed to be a big hit with the crowd.

A lean, restrained Washington cab, I think by design. I've had several bottles of this wine and, while not bad, I'm never particularly excited buy it either. In the glass it is a dark inky red. The nose never develops much power and perhaps that's my disappointment. There are hints of classic cab character (cassis, some lead pencil and menthol), some floral notes and minerality. Wicked good. A lighter color for a warm year, full of old-world aromatics (reductive) and a beautiful balance of ripe fruit (cherry, cassis) and refreshing acidity. A wine that reminds me why I moved to Washington to make wine: WA emulating the Old World successfully.

Nose - cassis Mouth - mid bodied, very pure cassis fruit, while being light and nimble. The full flavored fresh fruitiness combined with a rather light body strikes me as being quite unusual for a cab, almost like a cab in pinot costume. Would be excellent for a fine meal. Gramercy knows how to crank out elegant wines that, in their words 'complement food'
