If you like Chianti this is a no brainer for mid week pizza or spaghetti night. Better than adequate.

Rustic. Flavor profile biases wood, leather, and straw. Not much acidity or bright fruit flavors. Would be a good wine for pairing with stews, roasts, or root vegetables, not to mention meat based tomato sauces.

Fresh dark cherries and raspberries on the nose and palate. A bit taut initially but opened up nicely over a couple of hours to reveal richer ripe fruit, leather, and a touch of meat. Nice acidity and tannins in the finish to balance the ripe rich fruit. Great food wine

Bigger style Chianti Classico. Rustic, but elegant, went very well with stew. Excellent.

Day 2 - color: light garnet; nose: faint fruity oak; taste: medium-bodied mouth feel, rounded plum fruit taste, medium-length slightly-tannic finish and notes of pepper and tobacco; overall: soft-spoken but interesting, decent, and easy-to-like Old World juice which should pair well with red-sauced pasta, pizza, baked or grilled chicken, etc. Ready to drink now (Fall 2015). Good QPR ($12/bottle) and worth buying again!

Very full body, somewhat tannic. Seems well-balanced, but probably could have used more time in the air: it had a stringent acidic finish throughout.

Gentle decant at 55 deg. F. Medium-intensity ruby robe with no sediment evident. Gentle decant. Gross nose right out of the bottle (yeasty, disjointed fruit, etc.), but that took on a floral balsamic quality with in about half an hour. Let this open up a bit and you're good to go. It retains some of the floral qualities on the palate, but also shows good dark fruit on the midpalate through the finish. Firmly structured at this point, with grippy …

Muted floral and herbal bouquet, smooth taste with a medium body, and a little tannin on a dry finish, not complex but it was nice with a red sauce pasta dinner.

Nice traditional version of Chianti Classico. Bright tart cherry and raspberry with nicely integrated oak. Velvet mouthfeel. This one is mellow compared to their reserve version and perhaps friendly to a wider range of table fare. Found this thoroughly enjoyable and would buy again to accompany any Italian style meal.

Pretty "hard", but it does have traditional chianti flavors. A lot of wine for less than $10.00, but you need some spice to standup to it.

Not a great drinker here. Big cherry nose with touch of floral and dark chocolate. Start is weak almost watery. Raspberry and a dry leafy taste. Tannins are high and leave a lingering unpleasant taste of that leafy flavor with possibly black pepper. Poured it out after glass.

Light nose, light color, light body, and a lot of acidity. Drink this wine with food. The first glass was almost undrinkable, but then when paired with the freshly shot mallard breast it somewhat shined....not bad for the price.

Medium dark ruby color; appealing, lifted, roasted cherry, tart red berry, tart raspberry puree nose; very tart cherry, tart raspberry puree, mineral palate with medium acidity; could use 2 years; medium-plus finish (100% Sangiovese; 14% alcohol) 90+ points

Nose of raspberry and red hots. Starts with vegetable/grass, then the fruit comes out with strawberry and lime. The dry lime lingers. Typical chianti acidity.

Medium(-) ruby, narrow irregular tears. Medium developing aromas of cherries, mocha, new wood, leather. Dry, medium(+)-high acidity, medium(-) dry tannin, medium body and medium(+) alcohol. Medium, flavors of cherries, red berries, leather, mocha. Tightly structured with balance more on acidity side. Good length with complex spicy-puckering finish. With grilled organic meat this worked really well.

This apparently still has the white wine varieties blended into it. Its very fresh, kinda fun, somewhat easy going. Works at $12. Or rather, that is the Rosso. Here, with the CC is a much more structured, powerful effort. 1 or 2% merlot in the blend. Fairly austere and grippy, a "certain elegance" I am being told. And that is fairly true.

Dinner at Otto Ristorante (Otto Ristorante) : Consistent with my tasting at the Castello few months ago while in Tuscany. Fresh fruity Tuscan nose. Bright raspberries and puckery tannins on the palate. Much better with food than sipping. With more air, sour cherries finally appeared. Average Chianti Classico, I have had much better.

Toast, sulphur, slight tomato leaf, cream and cherry. In the mouth medium minus acid, medium plus tannin but that is smooth and ripe, slight cherry fruit. Great structure and big mouth feel. Savoury and ripe.

hard to get any distinct nose, very light fruit but heavy on the wood. Opened up a bit over time, but still difficult to decipher. Overall a basic Chianti that probably should have been consumed a year or so ago.
