Gorgeous stuff. A little rustic and rough, but extraordinarily complex. This really lives up to the comparisons that are made to serious Pinot and Nebbiolo.... excellent Etna!

Annual Bolomey & Sprezzatura Wine Tasting and Dinner (Restaurant Entrepot, Amsterdam, NL) : Trade tasting, brief note. Smoky volcanic minerality, autumnal style, lifted aromas of fruit and flowers, freshness and firm tannic grip, spices and a hint of vanilla, lovely complexity and length.

High acidity and grippy tannins make this a formidable wine tonight but, as with most Italian wines, the 2016 Feudo di Mezzo is made better by food, and vice versa. Cherry and earth on the nose; tight palate.
