Crissante Alessandria, Barolo, Capalot

First 2018 that show some signs of aging on the nose. The fruit is starting to oxidize, revealing ripe red fruits. On the palate, it’s a delight with very fine, pleasant tannins. Remarkable length and a sweet finish.

Colore rosso granata con riflessi aranciati. Naso ben bilanciato tra potenza e finezza, in cui prevalgono profumi agrumati di arancia sanguinella e cedro, frutti rossi maturi, note di spezie dolci, in particolare di cannella e vaniglia, leggeri sentori floreali di rosa appassita, e note balsamiche di menta e liquirizia. Il sorso è pieno, la solida struttura è equilibrata da tannini fini ma presenti, ed è sostenuta da una discreta spalla acida, che persiste nel lungo finale.

Swig Italian portfolio tasting (67 Pall Mall) : A sweet powdery depth, dusty dried strawberry, talcum and violet. Concentrated with slightly bitter tannins but overall it's juicy and expressive.

JG’s mainly Barolo 2018s (Terra Rossa, London N1) : Forest floor and red fruits on the alluring nose. Good depth and complexity and well balanced yet not lacking in concentration. A typical inviting 2018 that ticked the boxes. Impressive

Dark cherries, fishermans friend original, raspberry, Liquorice and dried roses. Very nice and already accessible.
