Quite mature at this point, starting to fade on the finish. Very petrol nose. Gold apple juice color, mature notes. Still some acidity though. Drink up.

On a secondary and mature plateau. Nice lemon and chalky palate with a hint of sweetness. Petrol nose. Good body and acidity.

Soft body but with nice acidity remaining. This is quite secondary with some citric fruit on the front end. A whisper of sweetness.

A wonderful aged Riesling that is well balanced. Pours a deep gold with a nose of apricots, golden delicious apples, honey and a hint of lime. Flavors are concentrated and follow the nose with a subtle sweetness and a pleasantly full body. Finish is interesting, the intensity falls off a cliff, but the flavor lingers. If I had to quibble, it could have used a bit more acidity. Really nice drinking at 20 years of age; no rush to drink, …

Beautiful mature riesling nose. A soft and round body with a yellow-fruit palate and citric acid finish with the briefest hint of sweetness. Everything is balanced, softened, and smoothed.

Another beautiful example of aged Riesling from Schonborn. Deep golden color, aromas of apricot and honey-like sweetness. There's a rich body and a slightly perceptible sweetness which perfectly balances the wine's acidity. The attack features a bit of sweet fruit, then glides into a citrus mid-palate, and finishes long, leisurely, and with the mouth-watering acidity lingering for minutes.

A mix of petrol, light sweetness, and a pleasant bitterness. Not especially nuanced, but in nice overall balance.

Deep golden color with a hint of orange. Petrol, apricot, honey, aroma. Same on palate with pleasant bitterness (walnut?). Just slightly sweet, plenty of acidity, medium plus finish. Very enjoyable.

Golden in color, and I mean gold. Apricot, peach, and a little tropical fruit. Minerals and solid acidity. Drinking fine. Juicy finish.

lovely old riesling, light on alcohol and residual sugar, slightly oxidized and well integrated. There's honey and apricot with good acid to balance.

The aromatics are beautiful and approaching fully mature, showing notes of caramelized citrus, honey, petrol, and roasted nuts. On the palate the wine is decidedly more focused than the nose implies, opening with mixed dried tropical fruits and orange blossom honey. Notes of petrol and preserved fruit merge into the strikingly refreshing finish of sweet lemon/lime acidity. This is a gorgeously aged kabinett that has remained deliciously fresh in its approach. My first really aged riesling, so take this note in context... Some mold on cork, looks like it bled through very slightly. I don't think the wine is damaged. Tartrates on the cork and in the bottom of the bottle. Dark as gingerale. Petrol nose comes out with a good swirl. There's a bit of a "dry dusty book" aroma. I don't think it's corked, but this would be a real wine club debate. Very full-bodied and there's still some …

Aromas of peach, orange rind, and a little apricot. Ripe flavors of peach and pear. Retaining solid acidity throughout. Minerality starts to creep in on the mid palate. Finishes dry with a lemon lime feel. So much is going on here. This wine has plenty of life ahead of it.
