Wow wow wow The thing with this is, while the colour and tanins may not be the most powerful, it was for sure the most memorable wine of the night. Smooth, cherry/red fruit like with a twist, the age was not a problem and in fact it we had with the exact same 2015 vintage (see the 2015 for my comments). This was full out and not restrained at all. It was like flower petals carrying the red fruit bursting …

Smokey red fruit, herbs, roasted coffee beans, and gentle oak. Surprisingly soft and approachable but light for a grand cru.

During a Blind tasting dinner. Interesting experience here. The wine showed well but was at least 10 years too advanced for its age. May be the bottle was exposed to some heat as I bought this in Taiwan. People were startled because the amber color clearly suggested a Burg from the 90ies. The nose was typical for MM, modern with toasty oak but very complex with earhty elements, cola, underbrush, game. Well balanced on the palate, aromatic and succulent.

Wow this wine has amazing concentration of forest floor and cherry. This is a bigger style burgundy which I like and paired well with stuffed rosemary chicken and Beet salad. I need to secure more! This wine is singing now and opened quickly in the decanter. Enjoy in the near or long term.
