Tasted blind. Ruby color. The nose was somewhat less intense than I would prefer, but showed earthiness, black cherry, black currant, smoke, baking spice. The palate showcases this black currant and plum fruit with a touch of minerality, but shorter finish.

solid…interesting texture for price point. Lots of cocoa!

Bright purple color. A pleasantly smoky, earthy vibe with fig paste, black cherries, black currants, along with complex tones of spicy herbs, black pepper, graphite, minerals, and anise. The palate sports fresh acidity and a full body with moderate tannins and flavors of red and black currants and plums. All sorts of pepper, anise, leather, sage, earth, graphite, and minerals abound. Savory, precise, exciting, but this will take some years to show its best.

After drinking a bit more, this is just a really mediocre wine to me. Not a fan. Had more the next day and what a difference. This one clearly needs to aerate a bit. 24 hours after I opened it, it was quite wonderful and the flavors really started to come out!

It's fine. I'd like more flavor, but it's totally drinkable.

Beautiful medium purple color. An elegant style, medium bodied, and smooth. Violets on the nose, with notes of oak, plum, and cherry on the palate. Alcohol is medium+, acidity medium, tannins medium+. A fine effort, with solid QPR in the $20 range. Would definitely buy again.

LOvely fresh nose, violets, perfumed Very very fragrant on the palate, perfectly balanced fruit, ripe and fresh, No obvious oak, long finish Wines like this make me understand why Argie malbec is so popular

James Suckling - Great Wines of the Andes (The Presidio, SF) : Opaque purple, with typical blackberry and underripe weedy plum notes. Aggressive high tannins, bitter finish. High alcohol and elevated tart acid (a bit harsh). 100% new French oak, but doesn't seem quite tamed. A fairly classic style of Malbec, if a bit aggressively structured.

An elegant red cherry based wine with additional oaky notes and soft tannins. Developed more black cherry character after a day or so with deeper, richer flavours giving added complexity.
