Notes of blackberry, wildflower with hints of cedar. Tannins have some grip. Overall, it’s a pleasurable wine.

Château d'Arsac 2016 Rather rich texture, less aromatic than previous bottles, but with a good depth of flavour. Dark fruit and tobacco. Good but I have preferred the previous bottles which were more Margaux. ***1/2, but behind the Citran.

This wine has continued to improve and should have a long life ahead of it. Its all pencil shavings and cassis fruit on the nose, with a complex but nicely balanced, blend of cassis, graphite, earthy tannins, savory, and acids, all trying to sing in harmony.

Pleasant wine. Not the best example of a Margaux. Decent fruit and body.

Drank over 2 evenings. The tannin relaxed a bit overnight and I really enjoyed the character which came to the fore.

Opened at a cellar cool 13 degrees, when it was a little muted and a bit blocky on the palate. A decent pour in a glass really helped this warm up and develop into a lovely classic mid-weight wine. Aromatic with red fruits, a touch of leather and herbs. Very moderate in every way and all the better for it. Balance and drinkability and a little charm. Tannins gentle and provide a backdrop of structure more than obstruction. Not that …

Enjoyable scented claret; dark fruit, cedar, mineral/graphite. Enjoyable but not quite as focused as the last bottle, perhaps its a bit warm. Still ***1/2.

Clean, crisp, medium bodied, cedar and pencil lead, blackcurrant and minerals. Doesn't need long keeping, but may improve a little.

For less than $30, this is drinking above its weight class. It is definitely integrated and drinking like a classic cab dominant Bordeaux. You can hold off for the next five+ years but it is drinking well here at n 2024!

Ten 2019 Left Bank Offerings : Tasted over two days, alongside the same vintage Poujeaux and Domaine de St-Guirons Very pretty bouquet and attack, featuring spring flowers and red and purple berries. Rock solid middle as well. The middle to back transition, however, shows a greenish bite. The clipped finish shows the same edginess. Generally underripe tannins. Overall, well balanced, not over extracted, judiciously oaked, and mostly seamless alcohol.

Hints of petrol and lilac on the nose. On the palate a mix of very ripe red raspberry, some ripe blackberry, dusty tannins, white flower, and garrigue. Well balanced acidity, but lacks fruit. Could be a bit thin at times. Decent wine but not for the price. The odd thing here is there is some new French oak, that really is imperceptible, maybe it adds some balance, but no depth. 72% cabernet sauvignon and 28% merlot

Very pretty bouquet; Margaux all the way. Supple and somewhat expansive attack. The wine turns pedestrian thereafter. The middle holds the attack's form well enough, but adds nothing. The back features a certain harshness, typical of non-phenolic ripeness. The finish shows a similar bite and comes up fairly short. Solid overall, but lack of noteworthy substance and edginess detract from the whole.

90/91. Needs 3-4 hrs aeration before that it is an 89. Has reticent aromas of floorpolish, flowers, plums, iron hints and chocolate. Its medium bodied a bit foursquare nicely oaked blue and red fruits palate ends longish, fresh and a bit gripping. Needs 5-10 years to sort out the grip. 13.5%. This had a Napa Valleystyle tasting centre la Winery which was one of the first to open in the Medoc.

Showing much better in the bottle than it did in barrel, the wine offers pungent aromas of dried flowers, tobacco leaf, and red fruits. Soft, round, and forward, this is already easy to taste. Drink from 2022-2033.

Nice maturing Bordeaux with a nicely evolving rounded character, purple notes in the glass, dark fruit on the palate, hint of oak, smoothing finish that could still use a few more years (but drinkable now). Overall, nice effort and would definitely recommend.

By the glass. Perfume of roses and red berries with clove and cinnamon. A classic delicacy. Soft yet intense and with a slightly tannic finish. For those who want to know what all the wines of Margaux were like thirty years ago. It would be worth letting these bottles sleep for another ten years. Por copas. Perfume a rosas y bayas rojas con clavo y canela. Una delicadeza clásica. Suave aunque intenso y con un final ligeramente tánico. Para quien …

This was superb, especially for the price of $23+ for a decent Margaux (cheers, Garagiste). It has pretty seamless tannins and is just gorgeous already. A wine for enjoyment if not for (that much) contemplation.

Promising signs for Bordeaux 2019 : Cru Bourgeois sampling (Strasbourg, France) : Refined nose, elegant. Spicy, oak derived notes combined with floral. Cherry pit. Quite tannic on the palate, but shows character: red fruit character and ripe. Ripe raspberry. A note again of freshness on the finish. If tannic, one senses the finer grain of the tannin.

My first try of the 2006 vintage and I think it will be an early drinker. This wine has pretty good complexity for a young wine - decent tannins balanced off against reasonable fruit. There is a nice tension between the two but this lacks real depth to age for a long time. 5 years for this wine will probably be enough.
