San Diego vacation wines (San Diego) : A year later, another Costco vacation purchase and identical experience. Nice strawberry, good acidity, slight yeast, fairly sweet but the acidity keeps it in check, energetic and mineral-driven. As good as NV rose Champagne.

[0.7] Blinds with Kfan and Janie (Kfan's) : Medium mousse, light impression of autolysis (bready). Medium-high acid. Nice. Moderately aromatic but not exceptionally detailed or zippy or assertive. (I tend to agree with AAgrawal - excellent for CA, average for Champagne).

4th Saturday Group Cellar Diminishment (Sue’s) : From methuselah. Medium mousse with a persistent bead. Toasted orchard fruit on the nose and palate. With a bit of air dried peach notes emerge. Almond and dough in the finish. Excellent. (SS)

This improved over the 2 hours that we drank the bottle. It filled out with time, remained energetic and mineral-driven, with slate and barely-ripe strawberry. This is as elegant as a good NV champagne rose.

Runs slightly austere on opening then fleshes out more. Crisp, racy light weight & focused. Held up fantastically over 3 nights & even improved on 2nd & 3rd nights.

Bubblefest - Taittinger Horizontal : Light pale salmon color, actually very light. The fruit flavor, peach and berry,maws quite subtle. Medium acid. Fairly pedestrian rosé, not much to excite me.

pale lemon with copper highlights; med developing, toasted brioche, lemon, pear; dry, med+ acid, med body/alc, sharp mousse, med intensity, med+ finish, cream, yellow grapefruit, lemon, pear, nit skins, mineral; very good, drink now - pinot notes are very subtle on the nose but show more on the palate, acid and mousse have a sharp liveliness that resolve to a soft round mouth-filling creaminess, highlights starting to fade
