Vintage: 2022 Country/region: Saint-Joseph/Northern Rhone/France Appearance: deep purple; no sediment or visual faults Nose: This wine has intense primary aromas of plum, black cherry, blackberry, blue berry, black olive, and a vegetal note reminiscent of salad/leaves; some oak character but very very subtle (when blended, I estimated <30% new oak) as the oak tannins are integrated/chewy and the secondary aroma is simply vanilla without other baking spice/nutty characters. Appearance: Inky purple in the glass, showing good depth of color. Nose: Somewhat muted, with subtle hints of blue fruit and faint earthy undertones. Palate:Blue fruit dominates, accompanied by a slight chalkiness. The medium acidity provides balance, but the overall structure feels straightforward. Finish: Medium in length, leaving a decent impression but lacking complexity. Overall: A solid effort, but it falls short of greatness. Enjoyable, though not particularly memorable.

Nose: dark fruit. Blackberry, blueberry, and black cherry. A bit of baking spices. Slight chalkiness. A little bit concentrated/extracted. Medium plus intensity of aroma. Upon opening, pretty enjoyable on the nose. Cigar box creeping in with some air. Palate: big acid as expected, medium to medium plus tannins. Woodiness. Fruit from the nose comes through. A savory element as well. So far, quite a nice wine. Let’s see how it changes.

Lots of dark berries, olive, game and spices on the nose, quite fresh, somewhat elegant, with grainy tannins and medium acidity, nice finish

In the glass wine is inky, purple and opaque. Aroma of dark fruit, including blueberry, pepper and game. On the pallet with initial ripe dark fruit, cedar with chocolate notes. Well integrated persistent tannins. Medium long finish. Amazing QPR. Enjoying with some delicious spicy jollof rice.

Medium and slightly cloudy brilliant ruby color. Slightly dusty nose with mixed intense red and purple fruits. Intense black raspberry and purple plum with some dust in the finish. Soft texture and a long, powerful, tasty finish. Really delicious and should easily age well for another 10-12 years.

Ripe black fruits verging on being stewed, sweet black olive, spiced cedar? Like a spiced black olive cake. Medium+ body. A crowd pleaser.

Too hot to cook, (104), made some chicken salad sammies. Pulled cork and gave the wine a 30 minute chill in refrigerator. Very nice indication of the ‘22 vintage. Good fruit, and tannins, it will get better over a couple of years. Yum.
