This does not make me happy. It’s well made, and there’s nothing wrong with it, but the rubbery / meaty varietal character, which can be unattractive in a red, really sticks out in this rosé. It’s solid but not pretty.

South Africa is the country that champions “Pinotage”. It’s a cross of two grape varieties, Pinot Noir & Cinsaut and was created in 1925 by Abraham Izak Perold, the first Professor of Viticulture at Stellenbosch University.
