Found I had forgotten this wine in a corner of the cellar... Thought I might have missed the boat....not a bit of it. All the lift of Chorey with that added authority of its origin. Delicious and - sure - not a wine to linger over once opened, but great fun. A really good Tollot Beaut wine. They are true masters of the (seemingly) lighter side of Cote de B, but don't be fooled: remarkably long on the palate, considering. …

Rich red berry-fruit, with an almost dark core, oak well handled. Taste is long, smooth and fruity with a complex end with cherries, tobacco and a touch of wet leaves. Really nice showing from Tollot-Beaut!

very subtle, almost too subtle for my crass Aussie palette. some cedar, tobacco and vanilla. short finish. I prefer a bit more fruit but that says more about me than this burgundy.

Ripe, almost Rhônelike in the nose. Still good acidity and fruit. Drink up.

Spicy lil underbrush berries. Menthol and pristine herbaceousness. Fine to smooth silky tannins.

A fine avarage (in a very positive meaning) burgundy. There Piece du chapitre has the quality of an avarage premier cru. It was my third bottle after a 2002 and 2004. Good clear colour, nice fresh nose and a not too complex but satisfying taste, good acidity. Maybe should have decanted, because tannins are not yet fully integrated. Thinking about the delicate 2002 this could improve further over the next 3 to 4 years.

Burgundy 2011, Day 0 (Beaune) : This was a very nice Chorey. The nose was typical of something coming out from the north of the Cote de Beaune, with lots of flowers and sweet spices, funky earth and some meat playing on a backdrop of strawberry and cherry scents. There was a nice streak of stony, metallic mineral in there as well. The palate similarly showed very nice typicity. Light, nicely fruity stuff, with bright strawberry fruit bolstered by good …

Nose is somewhat medicinal dark bitter menthol cherries. Get some bittersweetness and red fruit, some vegetal notes like asparagus.

Wild strawberry nose. Refreshing on the palate, good tannins in the end. We like this!
