Last of the Van Dyk Family wines. Medium violet red. Layered nose with cocoa, violet, boysenberries, spices and something a little bitter. Moderate tannins (7/10) and medium bodied. Nice start to the palate but goes a bit thin with notes of cherries, leather, granite, strawberries and metallic like pennies. Long finish. Definitely seems like it needs more time to fully integrate and balance out. Try again in 2018.
