Château La Vivonne Côtes de Provence Les Puechs

We had this after the Domaine Vivonne (and both after dinner and a winery tour day that included three other roses) but these two were essentially the same and nobody was aware of the transition. One of our favorite roses and excellent QPR.

To the nose, strawberry, raspberry and melon (especially watermelon initially), plus slightly floral. Additionally, there is a slight scent of orange or other citrus. Very fresh. On the palate, strawberry, raspberry, melon (esp. watermelon) and slight red cherry. Lively with good acidity, minerality and salinity in harmony and complementing the fruit. A very good, more complete mouthfeel with moderate length. At the end, slight orange (pith or peel?). Consistent with recent vintages; more fruit and not as dry as classic …

Not my favorite. I would drink it again if someone bought it but it’s uninteresting. To acidic and basic.

Damned delicious. Green apple. Strawberry. Some citrus. Get ‘em!
