Colle Dei Bardellini Pigato Riviera Ligure di Ponente

Continuing my haphazard journey through the various Italian whites. Today's stop was Pigato, a new grape for me. Pale, golden color. Fresh, lively smell. If I were better at "I Spy" I could tell you exactly what exotic asian fruit I smell, but I'm not: dried apricots, slight nutty with asian fruit overtone nose. Nice taste, somewhat biting--my wife calls it tang--with decent balance. Enough acid to stand up to food and a medium finish that doubles back on you. …
